Hello fellow golfers

I am an independant mobile ultrasonic club cleaning business i understand that there is a franchise company who already provide such service.

i am based in the gainsborough, lincolnshire area

Experience has shown that golfers truly find this to be an important and desirable service. It is common for golfers to regularly use the service every 2-4 rounds they play,

there are alot of golfers out there who are very sceptical of this type of service (why should i pay you to clean my clubs when i/HID can do it for free), something i used to say myself so can fully understand where they are coming from. however since aquiring my machine and seeing the results first hand i can now see the other side of the story, the clubs look and are extremely clean, the grips are tacky like new again.
I wont bore you all with the full process as i am sure most of you are aware how it works, basically the machine creates tiny bubbles in the water which implode when coming into contact with the dirt, releasing it from the clubhead, these bubbles are very tiny enabling them to reach the smallest of places, a lot easier than with a brush, some brushes that i have seen some golfers use are wire which can cause scratching to the clubface, the ultrasonic cleaning process does not harm the club in any way

since i have been doing this (5months) i have had %100 positive feedback from golfers who have had theirs done.

now for a bit of shameless touting for business

I am available for hire to visit any club (within financial reason) to attend any competition (charity/corporate/member) just contact me for full details

I also have a website you could visit

www.groove-kleen.webs.com

you can find all the information on there.

i would also welcome any feedback from you guys on here. :D

Every 2-4 rounds? That sounds like a hell of a lot to me!! That would be using the service once a week, if the weather is nice.... I definitely don't scrub my clubs that often!

That said, it might be something I would consider once a month for a treat, if I was playing a lot.

(as a bit of constructive criticism, there are a few typos on the website, might be worth correcting those. And you might want to put your prices a bit more prominently, rather than digging about in FAQ)

Hello,

I was playing in a pro-am a month ago and this service was on offer after the round. It was a hot and sticky day so for a £5 I decided why not and left my clubs with the gentleman providing the service.

I didn't check the work, just threw my clubs into the back of my car once I collected them.

Well the next round I took out my 3 wood on the first tee and wow! I thought he had re-gripped my clubs. The "tackiness" was amazing.

Good luck with the venture and I will recommend it 100%. Great results.

Good luck to you in your new business. Your price seems good for a clean.

this figure was based on research of (trying not to catagorize some players) average golfers who implied that they play on average once a week

thankyou for the typo spotting, i have just seen a few myself, amazing what you can see if someone else tells you about it :D (should have done a spell check) DOH :o

Not sure I'd use the service every 2-4 rounds (especially with recent conditions) but it does seem very good value & I'd definitely give the clubs a treat once in a while. Good luck with it mate.

Not a problem, appreciate that average golfers probably play a lot less than some on the forum! I guess if I played once or twice a week, and saw you at the club on a saturday morning, I would probably get it done once a month! Being a Southerner, i would have said £5 would be a bargain, but that's because I'm used to taking out a mortgage just to get a round of drinks!

In a buyers eyes I don't like your website, I find it very impersonal with no contact numbers, registered address, email address etc. People buy off people and there's not enough personal content on your website for me to interact with it, or you.

This is something I looked heavily into after I closed my retail businesses down in December but it was through a major franchise company. I also looked at buying a unit second-hand and just doing what I wanted to during my early retirement to keep me busy a few days a week and the odd weekend, not a business per se, just a part-time venture built around my hobby.

I know quite a few people who do it and are quite successful at it but it takes a lot of marketing and getting your foot into as many doors as possible, I never think undercutting the "going rate" is the right way forward though, IMHO.

I wish you luck with it.

I would certainly use it. Very cheap in reality. We expect a £5 tip minimum to clean a shotgun which doesn't take very long.

Good luck in your venture :)

Good luck in that venture.
I would have thought that Ultra Sonic cleaning would impact on the obsession that some have with cleaning their gear. Does it work on a pulse or just more of an annihilating rhythm? Quick too I would guess, not taking an eternity.
Clean clubs are like an Arpeggio out on the course with a smooth 1,2,3,4 timing.

Sounds like you could drum up a fair bit of business on here

P.S: If anyone spots what I did there I will be massively impressed :D

Ooh, are we having a go at web sites again? You know it all ended in tears last time ;)

I'd tend to agree with said opinion. I'd always recommend spending a little bit of cash on getting as professional a web site as you can. Doesn't need to be fancy but 'inviting' for want of a better word, tidy up the fonts, make it a bit more visually attractive. You can kind of tell you've done this one on the cheap or even for free. Which of course isn't a deal breaker, but it all contributes to your service and your brand, again for want of a better word.

And I agree that you have to have your contact details on there if you expect people to contact you!

But having said all that best of luck.

It really does bring them up well, more so its worth it for the grips alone.

I bet, i gave mine a good scrub yesterday and can feel the difference and i only used a scrubbing brush and soapy water, then rinse. I would deffo use it prior to a round at a meet or comp etc.
