Stopped off for drink at Nairn at lunchtime on the way back from a meeting out Elgin way.

A couple of guys from my group had been out in at roll up and told me to look out of the Whitelaw lounge windows.

And what i saw was;

The on course sprinklers on, both greens and Fairways, as they were getting a bit dry with all the good weather we have been having...

The Uk weather maps have been wrong for months they have forcaste snow petty much evey weekend ... none.

Nairn has not had so much of a drop of rain for weeks, It was raining in Inverness when i lefty this morning but nothing again in Nairn I kid you not.

Typical.

I don't think we've had 24 hrs without rain since Christmas. My local club course is unplayable with 2 holes fully submerged and 3 partially submerged.

Although they have opened 9 holes, (a controversial decision), its not looking good

We've had rain at times - but never when i've been on the course - sunny today, course open as always - off to St Andrews to look at putters this morning and out for a hit this afternoon.

i can't believe the weather either for the last 2 weeks I have had the air con on in the car and I am going around in flip-flops and shorts.

Then again being in California may have something to do with that........

It is strange. Obviously they're having a very wet time down south, we have had a fair bit of rain recently and there seems to be the most snow in the mountains for fifty years or so.

Despite that, it must be the mildest winter I can remember. I think I've only had to scrape the car windscreen once all winter.

Very strange, we've been quite immune to the really bad stuff so far, was speaking to the steward at my old place last night he said he's not worked yet this year, he couldn't believe it when I said I'd only missed a couple of days golf through it!

Agree FD the temperature's been strangely mild too I've not had the scraper out once yet and there's been no real need for a winter coat, not that I don't walk past people on my walk to work in full Siberian gear good job it's not actually cold or these poor things'd starve!

Same here. Not only do we get the better weather up North, but also much cheaper golf . The only thing that they seem to get down south is all the GM fitting opportunites
