I don't know if I can be bothered with all the hassle of taking my clubs abroad & I am not a great fan of very hot weather, so I am thinking of taking a weeks golfing holiday in the UK.

I want to play every day, I wonder whether to look for a holiday actually based at a golf resort (looking at Dartmouth hotel & country club) or whether to just stay at a good quality hotel & book rounds at different course's each day.

Any recommendations?

If looking for a weeks golf and different courses think I would head up to Scotland personally where you would have plenty of options. Ireland an alternative too. If you wanted to stay in England then I think Id find a resort hotel then tout for a few extra games on here with anyone who plays nearby.

or Saunton Sands - love the place. Several options for other courses like Burnham on the way down and RND when there (a must play but a marmite course). I could happily play Saunton all week and never wish to be having more variety

Scotland gives you such a variety of choice and the courses are not so busy. You can pick from many types of courses.

I'm starting this year by flying to Inverness and going up the NE coast, over to Orkney, across the north coast to Durness and back towards Inverness. There are so many courses on that trip to choose from. You can do this type of tour anywhere in Scotland.

Bournemouth , lots to do and in the 1st week in june they hold the Bournemouth Open at Meyrick Park and Queens Park , The 72 hole medal over 4 days being the main event , lots of other comps too , even mixed , if not there are lots of courses in the area and nice beaches to keep the family busy while you get on with your passion ............top courses in the area being Parkstone, Broadstone, ferndown, Remedy Oak , Isle of Purbeck and many more

Trevose is a great set up! The accomodation is very good, Swimming pool on site, great beaches, Padstow 3 miles away and St Enodoc is close by.
Only downside is that its a right Trek to get there. Ive been a couple of times now though and I wouldn't hesitate to go back
