UK Golf Days Surrey/Sussex 2014 Tour

Did indeed, a couple of us even managed to win some fetching trousers.

The sponsorship with Adidas/TM is a fantastic addition for next year. Won't know my availability until next year though unfortunately.

Would recommend as a decent day out though and the 3/4 handicap makes it a lot fairer than others.

There is a midlands tour that is at forest of Arden the belfry enville lindrick beau desert forest pines the Warwickshire and hollinwell this year, I played the tour champs at hollinwell great day out.

I did look at that, most are a fair trek for me and if i remembered rightly they were on the erxpensive side for the courses they visited?

A 'Beds & Herts' tour comprising the likes of Moor Park, West Herts, The Grove, The Centurion, Brockett Hall and Woburn wouldn't be too bad!

most are £75 which is a bit dear for PGA @ the belfry and FoA in february, but fair price for lindrick, beau desert, (£70 on forum meet) hollinwell.

Entry now open!

Was this any good last year, a couple from here played didn't they?

Seems the entry fee's have gone up, but the top prize is pretty awesome to boot!

am I reading it wrong? min £47 entry per event (£75 for majors) for a chance to win a £75 garish trousers voucher and a mystery TM product per event?

Top prize for the overall winner is good but thats after 11 events and a large overall outlay.

Costs seem large compared to the 36 hole tournaments costing c£30 with a £350 winner voucher and prizes down to 5th place.

Which tournaments cost £30 and give those prizes ?

Wouldn't mind entering that

It was a fantastic tour organised by a great company but I do question the handicaps and some of the scores posted. IMHO if your playing off 3/4's handicap you shouldn't be scoring 43/44 points.

Using this if a 20hc player scores 44/43 points, this would equate to 48/47 off full hc, ..... For me certain scores stank... But I loved the tour and the job the organisers done.

Was it this group who were talking about adding another tour north of London? If so anyone know if anything likely to come of that

I would also be interested - could have a very good little tour around here

Hi guys,

I have been looking through as I do and thought I would come on here again to answer any questions you may all have about the Surrey/Sussex Tour 2014!

As you can see we have just secured an amazing deal with TaylorMade adidas Golf and we are very excited about this fact! The winner of the grand final now gets a full day at Wentworth, complete with a custom fit session in the performance lab and new iorns! And then after that the winner and a guest will get to play the West Course! So well worth playing for!!

With relation to the query above about prices and what prizes are available at the events:

We have decided to take the level and quality of courses up for 2014, hence the price increase. The reason for doing this was due to feedback from the people who played the tour this year wanting better courses and didn't mind paying more for this.

At each event there will be prizes for first, second, third and two nearest the pin competitions. Examples of prizes as follows:

First place - Standbag, Wedge, Shoes
Second - Holdall, Clothing, Tour Balls
Third - Hats, Towels, Shoebags
NP's - Gloves, Dozen Balls

For the Major events, the prizes will be something like this:

First - Fairway wood, tour shoes, putter
Second - Shoes, wedge, putter
Third - Holdall, umbrella, tour balls

All TaylorMade, adidas, Ashworth or Adams.

As you may know, an even winner also gets £75 to spend at Loudmouth Golf on whatever they like and if you win an event wearing LM, you will get a bonus of £150!

So all in all the events have gone up in price to allow for better quality venues, but also the prize quality has also gone up!

If anyone has any questions about the tours, then please don't hesitate to post them up and I will be more than happy to answer!

Cheers,

Ben

The Midlands Tour isn't through these people though, is it?

I remember looking at it last year and even after taking some food and prizes into consideration, it was very expensive, especially when I can pay half price with my county card!

Not knowing what or where your looking for those £70 prices quoted and what they entail, they are expensive for that time, I live less than 10 minutes from FOA and I can play it for around £40 on the Arden, the same for the PGA, Society rate at Beau is £65 which includes meals so, unless you think you have a chance at the day prizes and overall prizes, I think their very expensive at around £70 a throw.

I played in a couple of the Surrey comps and thought they were very well organised, the right price at around £30/£35 for the courses played and decent prizes on the day to boot. I bought food and drink before and after at those clubs I played at so my outlay on the day was less than £50, which I think is the right barometer setting.

Just found it and its a different outfit running it.

Allowing £15 for a bacon butty, drink and 1 meal afterwards, each course is costing around £60-£90 to play it so, each player is contributing £20-£30 to the prize fund!
