Well from London anyway.. From the end of the month...

Not sure how it will pan out in the long run but the right thing to do in my opinion... They've been given many opportunities to sort their house out and have failed to do so...

If they appeal the withdrawal of licence they will be able to continue while it goes through the court system...could take months or even years..

Hopefully this is the start of the end for this outfit. Unfortunately i imagine they will appeal, some brown envelopes will change hands, and the decision will be overturned...

Odd that people are seemingly pleased that removing Uber from London will impact around 30,000 drivers who will effectively be jobless and be saddled with potentially crippling vehicle debt.

Not giving Uber a licence isn't a good thing for Londoners. They need to be bought in line for sure and meet all the required regulation/safety requirements that are set, but getting rid of them completely to me screams TFL aren't happy their income has taken a hit due to less people riding in a black cab and on public transport.

The decision will be with you anytime now. Almost there. In fact, he just turned into your road.

As noted in the OP... To the best of my knowledge they've had plenty of opportunity to get their 'issues' sorted...

Less people on public transport ...
I don't think so...

Think all you like. It's a fact TFL have taken a hit financially since Uber started up.

Taxis were ridiculously expensive prior to uber. I live a 20 minute drive from town. Prior to Uber this cost £30-£40 in a black cab, £30 in a mini cab. I have had it as low as £13 with Uber. More money saved, more to spend on important things (like a new putter).

Uber has been amazing for myself and my friends in London.

Horrible decision. Black cabs really need to step up their game currently I would only use them in an absolute emergency. Total rip off, no transparency, last time I was in one they only took cash and it was 40 quid, who carries that much cash these days... no one my age anyway.

Uber drivers are a pain in the backside. No knowledge of the roads, rely on sat nav to get around and cause nothing but irritation to everyone else.
I dont have much love for your black cab, but at least they've done the "knowledge" and know their way about and have been police checked.

Question to all those happy to pay less to use an Uber, are you also happy to pay 3x more during busy periods, and during terrorist attacks?

And to those worried about the drivers (who were never actually employed, they are all private contractors and can just go and work for any other PH outfit) what about the countless taxi/PH drivers in other parts of the country who have been put out of business by Uber? The UK doesn't stop at the M25.

Just about to come to Aberdeen and not before time. Our taxis all drive around in Mercs and are an absolute rip off. Time they were brought into line.

I remember years ago going to Portugal and all the cabs there were Mercs, must have been something to do with their reliability after 100000ks of use

Genuinely interested in why you feel so strongly against them.

From a consumer point of view, I see nothing to dislike.
