Typing posts - where's the cursor

Dear Mr Fat Controller.

When typing this new thread there is a nice vertical line flashing cursor which continues flashing wherever it's placed (for editting).
However this is not the case when replying to posts. Is this to avoid embarassment to forumers of a demure nature? As if.
