Two grips?

Slightly odd question, but I had a driver specific lesson with a pro. We worked hard on my grip and ball position and it cured the slice. However after the pro had gone I got the irons out and tried to hit with new grip, was rubbish so I went back to my old grip for the irons and the new grip for the driver. Does anyone else have two grips? Not sure whether to continue using two grips

Which one does your pro say you should use? Also, changing grip is difficult and you should expect to struggle at first

Well I've booked in for another 6, so I presume we will continue to work on the new grip he a given me. However (not saying they are perfect) my iron set up wasn't broken and I was enjoying my golf. Going to have to have a chat with him tomorrow. Was just wondering if anyone else used two grips

I use interlocking for my driver, interlocking OR overlap for my irons and reverse overlap for my chipping, pitching and bunker shots :p

Just gone to reverse overlap for my putting after using a 'pencil' style grip for a couple of years (and might go back to it soon).

I'm complicated - and so are the scores I shoot

This is something I've been thinking of after a recent change back to my original grip, both interlocking

Original grip - more accurate with irons
Newer grip - more consistent with driver

The only real difference between the 2 grips is that on my original grip, my thumbs are perfectly in line but the newer grip sees my right thumb move left giving a more pronounce V shape on the front/visible part of the grip

I had a look at some diagrams and it seems I'm using a neutral grip for the irons and he was trying to get me to have a strong grip for the driver. I'm gonna play today using this two grip method and then have a chat with him tomorrow at the next lesson

I tend to grip my driver with a stronger grip, everything else with a very neutral grip. Works for me as most of the trouble off the tee where I play is up the right so guards against this.
