Wow what a course!

We played there friday afternoon, clear blue skies and there wasn't a breath of wind it was amazing.

After playing there i now understand how tough it is and how great these pro's are who go round there 6 under par in much tougher conditions.

That 9th tee shot over the sea from the championship pegs has got to be one of the toughest tee shots in world golf.

I will try to get some pics up later.

We also played bellisle which was rubbish and troon darley which although it was a bit tatty it's a cracking course i thought.

I doubt there's too many courses better than turnberry imo.

was hoping to arrange a trip there this year but as usual been too busy - hopefully next year - can get it for £45 a round due to Troon membership so was planning a 4-day jolly with a stop off on the way back, maybe in Cheshire.

It was the ailsa we played and i agree with flydewhite about 4th to 11th being possibly the best stretch of holes in the world.

I'd never tire playing there every week too.I only hit 2 bunkers and lost 1 ball but some of those bunkers are brutal.

We are looking at around fife/st andrews old course next year as our golf trip and can't wait.
