Hi guys. A few of us was thinking about going away a little further next year and was thinking about Turkey. Any thoughts ?

I went to Turkey a couple of years ago for the first time.
I can honestly say it was one of the best golfing holidays I have experienced, and would definitely go again.
I've played in Spain and on the Algarve before but the Turkish courses were something else. Highly recommended. The courses that we played were in superb condition in May.
We stayed all inclusive at the Voyage Hotel Belek, and the quality of food, accommodation and "extra's" was top notch, one of the best hotels I think I have visited.
Nothing was too much trouble.
I found the Turkish to be much more approachable than the Spanish/Portuguese too.
The more "established" golfing destinations had it their own way for so long that I think complacency had begun to set in.
Some of the rudest, most arrogant front of house staff I have ever met were in Portugal. They made you feel that they were doing you a favour by letting you play "their" course rather than the fact that it was your money that was helping to keep them in a job!
Maybe this is changing now.....it's been a few years since I've visited the Algarve, but it was certainly the case in the 90's and into the 2000's before Turkey started growing in popularity.
Go for it. Trust me, you will love it!!

Yeah do it. Amazing courses and lovely hotels. I'm going on the 14th and can't wait.

12 of us are off to Belek in April for the 5th year running after several years doing Spain and Portugal. There is no comparison. The hotels are superb, you would not believe how young the courses are - they come over as having been there forever. The one downside is that there is nothing to do in the evening apart from eating and drinking in your hotel.

Sniffy covers it all here. We are heading back to Belek for the 4th time in 5years. In fact I booked the 2015 trip before we departed in 2014. Voyage Hotel everytime. The rooms we're also refurb'd in 2014.
Great people, great hotels, great courses...job done
I wouldnt go near Turkey, but each to their own

I stayed in Kusadasi Golf & Spa Hotel (Aug 2014)
Green fees at the time,
55 euro (9 holes)
80 euro (18 holes)
Did not play the course, but it did look nice,

Going back in May to Turkey this will be my 3rd time stopped at the Cornelia Diamond, Susesi this year we are stopping at the Gloria Serenity all very good hotels a great weeks golfing with the lads and 24hr all inclusive couldn't ask for more just need a week to recovery when you get back.

I'm going back to the Cornelia diamond in May, this is my 5th or 6th time, I think it's great there, iv played all the courses and haven't really been disappointed with any of them. but like has been said if you want to go out at night trekking round the pubs and chasing birds and the like then Turkey not much good for that. I think all the big hotels will be equally good.
If you're quite happy with some good golf and some sun in a big classy hotel then you can't beat turkey.

Lol, one of the pluses of this is I have a chauffeur, in a nice air conditioned minibus that's always on time. Haha
