Been to Portugal for the last 5 years and a little bored and vvvvvery expensive, i have been told Turkey is the new Algarve any comments / recommendations :) :)

I went to turkey a few years ago and I have never been back after an incident with my wife and a local 'shall we say over friendly' barman. He got put on his ar** I got to spend a night in jail. The place is nice but, sorry to generalise, the people aren't for me.Everyone has different tales to tell and some love it.

Simple, he thought it was ok to ask my wife to tell me she was going shopping and meet him the next day and go to his apartment for the inevitable. She however came back from the bar and told me what he had said so I decked him, the police came and took me to the station and took a statement from my missus and in the morning they let me go and told me not to go back to that bar because it wasn't the first time there had been trouble of that nature there.

In Antalya Belek there are 11 golf courses in a row - have a look on google maps all you can see is sea, golf courses and hotels!!

Courses are good, some very, and great deals can be had via the golf bucket shops - you can get 5/6 rounds in an all inclusive hotel for less than £500.

Turkey is almost civilised now - most of the hotels are probably as good in quality and health as ones on the continent...

That sounds like one of those 1 in 100 statistically will say yes so just ask 100 people and hopefully the 1 will come up sooner rather than later scenario's. I wonder how many times he has been decked?! :D :D

Turkey is really nice place to go, cannot comment on the golf, but there have been some good write ups in the mags in recent months.

I love the food And you will find that as it is outside the eurozone, very good value for money.

Give it a go and report back

They still at that!!

Almost the exact same happened to me in Marmaris about 12 years ago. Was in a bar with the then bird. This guy came up and actually offered her money to go home with him, she told him to F*** off, he then became very agressive and started grabbing her arm, when he lifeted his hands i lost my temper and skelped him a couple of times, grabbed the bird and bolted, never been back in the country since.

i thought it would have been more civilised now though, was like the 3rd world over there 10 years ago.

a guy at work went to belek in the sueno hotel for a week and said it was the best golf holiday hes ever been on though
