"Trust me, I have a good feeling.."

I'm off out in a minute for a round and unusually for me I'm feeling something special is going to happen on the course.

I'll report back this afternoon if the 'feeling' was justified.

But it's got me thinking about the mental approach to golf. Do you generally play your best when you're feeling positive, or do you go out and see which of 'your' golfers turns up on the day?

Can positive mental attitude alone force your Rory to the fore?

It's a difficult balancing act of going out positive and expecting to play well but also playing within yourself and accepting bad shots and bad holes.

In general my answer would be no you can't force it but you can do a few things right and then allow it to happen.

I got a feeling that it's gonna be s***e..........

Turns out I'm no Ben Crenshaw! 😒

My positive intuition yielded nothing more than a respectable 3 over 33 points.

Still it was nice when it lasted and what a beautiful day to be outdoors hitting a little white ball around some fields.

35 points off the yellows and a birdie after just a couple of holes.

Far exceeded my expectations, shot 92 with an 8 on a par 3 and three off the tee twice!

I knew something special was coming!

I went out hoping to break 100 and hit a few good shots, but today was something else! Felt like a golfer again!
