Trump Courses

They will continue to be top tier golf courses

Vast, vast majority of people who hate trump are virtue signallers, who really have no idea.

They will continue to be ran as businesses by the Trump Inc machine. He has to step back personally from involvement with his businesses whilst POTUS but im sure you knew it was not just The Donald running his empire.

I'm curious what did you expect would happen with them?

What the Hell is a virtue signaller?

Could you expand on that please ?

Thanks for filling people in Fish

So what about the "no idea" part in Regards people not liking Trump ?

Trump is very much in the public eye - his life is all over the media and has been for years , a lot of what has happened is very much well documented and a lot of people simply don't like the man based on - how he treats people , what he says to people , how he acts and his belief and attitude towards a great deal amount of people.

Over in the US millions are attending rallies against him becoming the president still because they are genuinely scared of what will happen with him - there is genuine concern about Trump becoming prob the most powerful man in the World.

I expect there will be a few jumping on bandwagons etc but don't think it's as you suggest "vast vast majority".

His courses will continue fine but i guess it will depend on what happens over the next couple of years what the relative tours do in Regards comps at those courses - right now I don't think he has any tour comps at any of his courses. How he is as President will dictate if that changes.

As mentioned, he is a Marmite figure with vehement support or opposition to his views & policies. Suspect most of the people currently visiting his resorts or courses really aren't too fussed about his politics.

I just hope the various Tours & associated media get off the back of great courses like Turnberry & Doral and award tournaments on quality & merit.

I don't know about signalling my virtues, but my take is:
I imagine that his courses will do well as a result of scoring highly in rankings (such as the GM top 100), assuming they are accessible by the public and price doesn't put people off. But they may suffer a bit if people decide not to play them out of principle.

I think like in most things, for as many that decline to support anything associated with him there will be just as many that don't care to fill the gap they leave behind, a bit like Man Utd supporters :smirk:

You're probably right, but there will certainly be some who'll be put off. But whilst ever the course rank highly there will be demand for opportunity to play them.
I notice that the Open won't be at Turnberry in 2020, I believe because of Trump's comments. So will other courses begin to lose support similarly?

I imagine they'll continue to do well and he'll perform a cosmetic disassociation from them as he has done with his other business assets.

However I wouldn't play any of them on principle. Not even for a free pass.

The tactics he employed against those residents were he built his course in Scotland were simply disgraceful and from then onwards I vowed I would never set foot on one of his courses - brilliant as they may well be.

I don't imagine that he would give two tuppenny hoots about me and those likeminded but I can at least be happy to remain true to my own principles.

I have still to play Trump Great Dunes but have only heard amazing things about it.

Trump Turnberry is simply stunning. The course is excellent. Turnberry for me was let down by a weaker back 9 but Hawtree has worked his magic with Trump's financial backing.

Keep building courses of that standard and people will flock to play them.
