I have just acquired another battery for my Powacaddy trolley so now I have two, what is the best way to use them both? Do I use them on alternate games of golf or use one for a month then change over or what?
If I charge one up fully and put it on the shelf will it retain its charge and for how long ????????Help....

I would run them in parallel. Run a wire from each terminal to the other. Put one battery in a small rucksack on your back, whilst the other is on the trolley. This way you can play 72 holes without stopping.

I was going to ask about the life of the 18 hole lithium battery as I have a few 36 hole days (forum meets) this year and don't want to look like a tw@t if my batter runs out.
I was also thinking of picking up an 18 hole lead battery as a back up so am interested in the replies

To be honest, it is far cheaper to rent a trolley for the second round, or even rent it for the whole day. Trolley batteries are very expensive. Fortunately I have an old manual trolley for such occasions.

I bought a PC in 2007 and 2 18 holes batteries. Did alternate them for about 6 months then never bothered. The battery I have used every since is still going strong ( can get 36 holes out of it as sometimes I forget to recharge it and use it Sat and Sun) and have had now issues with the trolley. Only ever give it a blast with the air spray. Still looks as good as new. Regard charging it if I remember taking out the boot I put it for charge until the next step I use it again

I thought this was a serious platform to ask sensible questions to obtain experienced guide lines..how wrong could I be....

if you have 2 batteries, then do your best to run them out before charging it again, lead batteries after a time will only charge to a set limit, the new lithium can go on charge at any time without damaging it.

Oh dear. Not that old chestnut again ........

That might work for rechargeable NiCad batteries but is the quickest way to ruin a deep cycle lead acid trolley battery.
