Thinking about trolleys for the summer season and hoping you wise chaps can share your knowledge on a couple of points ...

1. Pull or push? Got an old pull trolley but push are meant to better for your back, anyone used both and noticed any differences?

2. If i was to buy a push one, any recommendations? I'd be loing for a combination of price but also how small it folds away and how easy it is to put up as some of them look massive!

Not interested in an electric one as cant be bothered charging batteries etc and my arms work enough to push something along.

Dislocated my shoulder yeas ago and starting to feel it after carrying now im playing more regularly so looking at trolleys...

Thanks for your help and COME ON RORY!!

Cant go too far wrong with trolleys; like most things, you kind of get what you pay for. Definately push rather than pull. I have a Clicgear 3.0; it's a nice piece of kit, sealed bearings, quality components. There are several decent trolleys on the market; the John Letters one picks up high marks in reviews IIRC.

I would reccommend a 3 wheeled push trolley.

Try the Powakaddy Twinline 3 (About £99, though I got mine for £85 with a bit of haggling) or if you want to splash out a little more, the clicgear 3.0 (about £150 if i recall correctly) is probably the Rolls Royce of push trolleys.

Both trolleys require very little effort to push about, if that makes sense, and they both collapse pretty small to go in the boot.

I pulled trolleys for years. I've quite a strong back so never had a problem but always felt a little tight around the shoulders when I finished the round. Nowadays I have the Twinline 3 and its just great. Pushes easily, although not as easily as it should as I have to have Hedgehogs on for Winter.
And you walk upright, no stooping, no twisting.
To be honest any of the 3 wheeler's will do the job but watch out for the cheaper ones - they're not as well put together and in my experience don't last.

Anyone got or any experience of the sun mountain micro cart, the 4 wheeled one?

Looks pretty good and halfway house price wise (excluding a cart bag that the mrs doesnt need to know about...) but never seen one at my place.

I had a recce trip to MK recently to look at trolleys in American Golf & Direct Golf.

I looked at the powercaddy, motocaddy s1 and this 1 http://www.direct-golf.co.uk/golf_trolle...trolleys/p11643

the Qwik fold was much more robust, very quick folding (hence the name), umbrella holder and a few other bits included and if I had the cash on me I would have bought it over the other 2.

I think they are all much of a muchness tbh so go for which one takes your fancy most. The sun mountain looks very good as is the clig gear.

Decisions, Decisions ;)
