Hi all,

My trolley bag is all but falling apart so I'm in the market for a new one. Last time I just went with the trolley manufacture's own product which has been on but not outstanding.

Things I'd look for are:
  • at least shower proof so I don't have to fight with a bag cover unless heavy rain
  • separate putter slot
  • plenty storage
  • handles to get in / out of boot easily
  • obvious design attention - perhaps even a wow gimmick of some kind.

It will only be used on a battery trolley and filled with all my tut so doesn't have to be the lightest out there.

So, any recommendations to look at / avoid?

thanks

simon

Sun Mountain make great bags and always have good colour options. Could be worth a look

I bought a Motorcaddy electric trolley a while back and got the matching cart bag for it. Best thing about it, is, on the base of the bag you can screw to thick pins, which connect to the trolley, no faffing having to do up bungee cords or the like and it keeps the bag really secure on the trolley. Other than that the bag has good storage. the down side is that's it's not really water proof, to make it so, you need to buy the motorcaddy rain protector.

I've been looking too, getting a bit fed up of my Ping Hoofer carry bag getting twisted on my trolley.

Yesterday I got a Motocaddy Pro Series Golf Bag http://www.motocaddy.com/uk/pro-series-bag-2017

I liked bags where the base has a cut out horseshoe section to fit onto a trolley, rather than the flat base. (If you've a modern Motocaddy trolley, there are pins you can click into the base, but mine is an older Motocaddy trolley, so I don't have this feature.) The Motocaddy bags looked slightly better quality (perhaps a bit heavier) than the other brands at the same price. I really liked the Titleist Bag too, but that was slightly more expensive, and a Callaway bag didn't have the base horseshoe.

I had looked at the Club Series bags too, but decided that the pocket linings was the kind of plastic that often goes a bit brittle and splits so the extra few £ was worth it.

I had an ogio cart bag which after about a month looked worn out, I replaced this with a Nike performance cart bag which to me is the most thought out bag designed. Cooler pockets, gps/scope pockets etc, the only down side was that it was not fully waterproof but in my opinion a great bag

I've recently bought the Pro Series and I'm over the moon with it, really nice bag.

Motocaddy, mid range bag. Really very good.

I wouldn't get a Motocaddy bag again. I liked the 15 way divider and putter well, but the pockets were pretty small and you could barely fit waterproofs in them. Also the bag was problem in Rain. Even though it was vinyl it soaked up water like a sponge.

My PowaKaddy vinyl bag is the same, thought it would repel water well, but not a chance. I like the external putter well, but seems a lot of manufacturers are vying away from this nowadays.

Interesting to see what hapens when it rains - they don't advertise the bag I bought as waterproof, but the pockets are massive and there's plenty of room for my waterproofs and a few jumpers, as well as tall the other stuff.
