Trip abroad

Guys was thinking of another trip to the algarve but can only go early April and concerned the weather may not be good enough to keep HID happy by the pool

any recommendations for other destinations closer to the equator which are cheap?

Turkey must be worth looking in to,especially with the exchange rate.
Know a few people who think it's great,although I have not been myself.
Don't think there's much other than sun and golf which is why I have not been...my group require a little evening entertaiment.

have a look at Egypt for that time of year, it gets too hot in summer.

Portugal as with Spain at that time of year can be risky weather wise,could be great but may be cooler with not the sun that she will be hankering for.As IM02 says guys we know rave about Turkey for golf and food (no suprise seeing as the lightest of the 4 must be 18 stone) but not alot nite time wise but fine if you are with the bird or are shy and reserved like me and enjoy quiet nights in and leave the heavy drinking and seedier side of the nightlife to the likes of IM02....

I went to Egypt last year and it was fabulous. Did not play but noticed some really nice looking courses near Hurgada (on the Red Sea coast). There is golf in Luxor too but it is a different kind of Holiday to the Red Sea. Luxor is more about sight seeing and the Red Sea is more diving and sports.
Wherever we stayed whilst touring round was all really nice though.

I went with my wife to Gran Canaria last February and we found that the weather was certainly good enough to laze around the pool and sunbathe. I also played golf 3 times at Maspalomas and Meloneras. Very enjoyable fortnight.

A few of my mates have been to Turkey for the past couple of years and rate is very highly...courses as good as Spain and first class food & beer.
I'm tempted myself

Tenerife has a couple of decent courses. Other than that Turkey is an emerging market and most of the mags have done travel features on the courses there recently
