With the great mans funeral being held tomorrow in Spain, i'm guessing a lot of golfs big names will not be able to attend what with Sawgrass kicking off the following day.

Been wondering if/what the players should do by way of a tribute to Seve at Sawgrass?

Black armbands? Black clothes? Spanish flags? A driving range salute? Minutes silence?

When Payne Stewart died they had a 21 gun salute at Pebble beach they all hit into the water at the same time from the 18th fairway something like that would be fitting

Seve had a lot of issues with the USPGA over the years so I hope they do not get in the way of the players

Everyone has to wear an iconic blue Slazenger v-neck jumper.

Slazenger should bring these back out as a tribute to the great man.

At the very least everyone should wear Cancer Awareness ribbons and have some sort of recognition at the prizegiving - even on the PGA Tour.

Would love to see evereyone hitting a 3 iron out of a bunker in unison though......there are some pretty large ones at Sawgrass!!

Dug out my old Slazenger slipover in his honour on Sat morning. Then drove to my Medal almost in tears. He would have been proud of my chip in on the 8th, I hope he covered his eyes for the other 17 holes though

Like most of us, he's the reason I started playing golf

I did find myself welling up on Saturday morning. Quite amazing, I didn't realise how much I liked him. 1988 Open, the first one I watched all the way through on TV.

That Slazenger jumper is indeed a thing of timeless beauty. He also looked great in Lacoste and Original Penguin back in 1979. That said, he made everthing look cool - even golf!

I like the idea of a Ballestroas trophy awarded to the leading points scorer during a Ryder Cup match. A fitting tribute IMO.

It would be nice if the European Tour did something to commemorate and recognise Seve's life, career and influence on the European Tour at the BMW Championship at Wentworth at the end of the month.

On a related point the latest edition of Golf World advertises a 64 page tribute to Seve in next month's - either they knew something that wasn't made public, or it's just a very strange coincidence. Hopefully the GM guys will have a plain front cover next month with the iconic picture of Seve at the 84 Open holing out on the 18th in the final round.

neither, the press keep obituaries on file for some prominent figures and update it as needed - bit like a CV
