Off to sunny Cornwall week after next, staying at Polzeath on their golf complex. So 3 rounds there and might get to play both Trevose and St Enodoc but most likely just the one...

So - which to choose and why :-)

I've played trevose quite a lot, last time 2 weeks ago and played St Enodoc once. I like trevose, bit I LOVE st enodoc! Believe it's more picturesque, more variety of holes and the best greens I've played on in the UK! Both are good, so either you choose will be fun, but I would pick St Enodoc!!

I seem to remember that Crossfield has done vlogs at both. Just turn the sound down and see which one suits your eye....

I must say I was disappointed when I played Trevose, thought the first 4 holes were very good but after that I felt there was a number of bland, non linksy feeling holes.

St Enodoc keeps your interest and concentration on every hole, such a good variety of holes with a very strong finish, and fantastic views pretty much throughout.

pick either, you will not be disappointed

Wrong :ears:

Right

I think St Enodoc is possibly my favourite golf course in the UK. Not saying it's the best (it isn't) but I absolutely love playing there.

Sorry Darren :D

St Enodoc is amazing. I thought Trevose was massively overrated. The middle section of holes are so boring whereas I don't think St Enodoc (other than maybe 11 & 13) has a bad hole

St eggnog is lovely. So is Trevose.

Both have weak stretches. I prefer eggnog.

But would play Trevose without hesitation

Played both and off your handicap you'll love both of them. St Enodoc can, at times, punish a good shot and it's possible to lose a ball from a good drive.
Trevose has some lovely holes but doesn't have the reputation of St Enodoc. Personally I prefer Trevose but I have played both more than once. As a one off with no choice of playing both then I would go for St Enodoc.
If you can get a day pass for St Enodoc then play the Church and Holywell courses on the same day as the holywell is a great little course with some superb short holes that will really test your short game skills.

Apparently "St Enodoc" is top notch and is in top spot on my "must play" list !...

ps, I've heard that you need to be under a certain handicap before they'll let you play it, that could be just a rumour though !...

Interesting. My coach has played both many times and prefers Trevose although said it is quite quirky and often played for the first time a bit tricky to plot your way around.

I'm going to try to get to play both or the decision will be tough and I'm rubbish at making decisions!!

Not played St Enodoc but played Trevose and won't play it again. Very disappointed with it so I'd go to t'otha one if I wus yee........

I think Trevose is overrated but it's still a good course, fair and very enjoyable.

I haven't played St Enodoc but if I was staying in polzeath that where I'd play purely because Its on the doorstep.

Are you sure you have that the right way round? There is nothing quirky about Trevose, it is just basically a flat links course. St Enodoc on the other hand is very quirky!

Or you could play The Point as that's even closer.

Amanda if you are playing The Point don't take the mickey out of Phil the pro too much about his height.
