I don't play as much as I use to and have been a bit hit and miss with my i20 irons this season. So after trying various manufacturers I pulled the plug on the Callaway xr irons now I know they are game improvement clubs but I really don't care I think the game is hard enough so I will take all the help these clubs offer. Ordered 5/pw 1/2 inch longer £400 should be here in a week. Now to sale my i20s 4/pw 1/2 inch longer green dot stiff cfs shaft. Can't wait to get them and yes I know they are strong lofted probably club and a half longer but should soon adapt.

Talking of new shineys, the second most gorgeous clubs ever - Mizzy MP-5 - will be released on 1st September. Already booked-in for the club demo day on 5th Sept. :D

I doff my cap to you sir. If you don't like new shineys then your not welcome here hehe!
In our house I smuggle in new shines whilst HID smuggles in new handbags
Hey ho!

Don't need a new driver at the tp aeroburner is only 2 months old. Just purchased a A wedge to go with the set but also just bought a Callaway heaven 3 hybrid at 20 deg as the 5 iron is 23 deg will have to drop a clip or 2 now

hopefully tongue in cheek re not telling your wife?

this forum is full of men hiding their hobby purchases from their wife as if it's their mum.

I wish it was tongue and cheek ref the wife but she would do her nut in if she new I bought new irons especially as she bought the i20s that will be sold. (Her main gripe is that She doesn't thinks the equipment that I've got isn't the issue I'm not playing that well and believes it's me) she knows nothing as its so obviously the irons and not me lol. I do purchase lots of gear that I don't really need. But her little surprise to New York for her 30th next month should keep her quiet for a while.

Ill be honest I had a few hits of the 714 Ap1's last week and I couldnt believe just how easy they were to hit. The 7 iron was going just as long as my mp54 6 iron with a beautiful flight. Ok they didnt feel as responsive as my forged irons but it was a real eye opener.

Sorely tempted to try them for a few rounds. Do we make the game harder for ourselves with the equipment we use? Jordan Spieth doesnt use blades.....

Should be no problem if you're picking them up from the pro shop. Go off with your current set come home with the new set that you won in the Captain's Charity raffle. :D

Or (if HID doesn't really pay much attention) get a for sale up in the clubhouse. go to club, place the old in your locker, get the new sticks from the pro & in the bag.

At some point the locker will empty & HID has no idea you swapped.

I purposely got head covers for my bats. That way she has no idea what they look like.

That's the lamest excuse for iron headcovers I've ever heard

The reason its lame is when I changed my irons I got a new set of matching headcovers too :D

Ah, but £15 for new covers because the old ones were "tatty" is a reasonable expense. HID still won't know what lies beneath the covers will she?

Had to pay £20 for mine :( You've no idea how hard it it to find Nicklaus iron covers

Ah but its worth it for the silence when I pair up with a kindred spirit and we trundle round the course in a buggy listening to the birds sing... following our FC's buggy that sounds something like Steptoe & Son having a clearout!

To be honest, mine were £6....amazon saved the day again! I got annoyed with the clatter too dragging the trolley around.
