Because after less than a months membership of a club I am now addicted, I am considering travelling with a half set in a pencil bag when going on a 7 week Tour of US and Canada. I've lined up ranges/ courses/ simulator centres to get to at least once per week so it's either schlep a half set out with me or rent everytime. But when I look at travel bags they all seem to be big to hold a full set in a cart or stand bag or people say they put 2 pencil cases in one bag. Can you get slim/half set travel bags? Any recommendations? and on the other hand are rental clubs at ranges etc any good in general? Good enough for a beginner that is.

If our considering renting clubs why not consider buying a half set whilst your there. The quality of rental clubs vary and you might be disappointed where as the cost of buying is usually cheaper than the UK and you don't have to buy new.

If you are taking clubs you may as well take a full set. As you say, travel bags are designed for a normal set. Check your airlines small print, some of the better ones don't charge for clubs.
