With up to 10 inches of snow predicted for the Thames Valley I'm not looking forward to going to work tomorrow. As I have to get a train into Reading part of me hopes they will be totally knackered and I'll have to call in and take a days leave. Somehow though I'm sure South East trains will cobble a service and I'll be forced in.

If you are travelling tomorrow be careful out there.

I'm approx 3 miles from my workplace. I have to go to work unless I have booked leave.
If needs be, I'll walk if it's too bad in the morning. Haven't had to do that since I was an apprentice, way back!

Living close to the Pennines we do get severe weather although I'm told it's not as bad as it was in years gone by.

If it's bad where you live and you do drive to work, remember, take it easy. Leave yourself plenty of time to get there, easy on the accelerator and brakes! Drive carefully.

Ok no trains, buses or tube, HTL is turning over and going back to bed.

Good luck to anyone going into work, im thinking of giving the golf club a call and see if they are open.

One of the unfortunate consequences of living literally quarter of a mile from work is that I will be expected to be there. Nobody in their right mind is going to come out to buy a car in this weather.

According to BBC news trains from Waterloo to Reading are suspended so I phoned work with that news. I also pointed out that I live in a cul-de-sac and the 3 car smash at the end of the road has actually made it impossible at the moment to even get to the station.

Just getting a nice hot water bottle and back to bed for a few hours

Sat at work now. Apparently we can go home at 12.30. Only half of us here anyway.

Had to be inventive on the way in, as every time I tried to dive up hill, I got stuck. Had to find the flattest route to work. Try plugging that into your sat nav.

Mrs Mog will have fun in her BM today. 255 tyres and 321 hp, no traction control, not a good mix.

I've got the day off, traveling doesn't seem like a viable option with a good depth of snow covering all the roads- it is still coming down hard and tyre tracks left by a car about 5 minutes ago are already completely covered! Fortunately my postman has also made it through with the latest GM so I'm happy.

What sort of BMW doesn't come with traction control as stnadard?

Andy

Loads of them. I had an M3 EVO that didnt have tc, the Z3 and Z3M dont have it.

Once had an 850, no TC.

Traction control is shite anyway to be honest, it is always too keen to kick in too soon hence why it is switched off on my car.

I drove one at the launch, and quite enjoyed it. It reminded me more of the original 3 series, before it got all bloated. Not too much room in the back, but then there never was.

Had a nightmare getting to work and back over the last couple of days. Nearly 3 hours yesterday morning, best part of 4 on the way home then nearly 3 hours to get in this morning. Problem is that where I work it is not that bad, it is where I am coming from that the problems are. Low point was losing traction on a steep hill last night and taking several attempts to get moving again.

Here we go again.

Mrs Imurg's supposed to be going to Banbury for a specialist Comsultation of a dodgy shoulder - well that ain't gonna happen!!

And another day lost - just when I can't afford it. Don't give driving lessons - don't get paid!!
