Hi folks,

I'm sure lots of you will be able to help with this one. I'm off to Texas in a couple of weeks and I'm planning on taking the clubs as I should have time for a game or two while I'm over.

I'm looking on recommendations for a good travel bag for the sticks as I'd rather take my own clubs than hire - I never feel like I'm playing properly with hire clubs.

I'm not necessarily looking to spend a fortune but want to get something that will do the job.

Thanks in advance!

I've bought one of these for my trip to Florida (£25 from Sports Direct), haven't used it yet but I'm going to protect my clubs with bubblewrap as well.

The Titelist Club Glove XXL.... . it is the bees knees and will probably cost more than a few clubs. But lasts a lifetime and is super protective.... It is massive and you can also throw some weekend clothes into it and you wont need any other bag. Cost is about £250, but the cheapest one in clubhouse direct is about £149.. or Snainton golf at £190 (but i saw a thread here about some deals they were doing)

I have had several soft cases and they are all ok but not great. I wold advise getting a hard case if you are going to do much travelling with your clubs. This is what I should have done years ago. Buy cheap, buy twice, or in my case, about five times. A bit daft really.

Not sure which ones are the best though...

I've just bought ths bag from Clubhousegolf, and so far I only have good things to say about the bag & Clubhousegolf. The bag has plenty of space, seems very sturdy and has protected my clubs well on the one trip we've been on so far, the bag does feel that it will last a long time.

Excellent service from Clubhouse golf too, purchased at 10.30 on a Thursday, delivered at 12 the next day.

Agree... just back from the States. Been on about 6 flights including the internal trips. It was also opened by the TSA bods (thankfully I had TSA compliant locks on it) who moved all my clubs around and rummaged thru all the laundry I packed into the bag. The bag took a beating and has some minor cosmetic scruffs on the the bottom plastic bit. Otherwise looks as good as new.

You also look v professional when you lug it around. Saw a few guys with 'ordinary' bags who were casting an evil eye on it.

I agree. I've had one of these bags for years and can't fault it. Very well padded and spacious. I don't understand why people need to put locks on bags though. If they're going to be nicked, then why not take the bag and all the clubs?

Agree...the lock was not to protect the bag & clubs but rather other knick-knacks in the bag if any. A baggage handler trying to sneak out with a a 48' inch driver is easy to spot, but if some takes the GPS or a sleeve of ProV1s is a bit more difficult to spot..
