We currently have a family Apple music account. This started as there were previously 3 iPhone's in the family. We are now a 3 Samsung family and there are some compatibility issues with playing through my car. I'm suggesting spotify to replace it but need to convince the others.

The biggest issue is the amount of music each of us have built up. I have googled it and it seems as though you can transfer your albums and playlists via apps. Has anyone done this? Any recommendations?

Has anyone changed this way? Any downsides to spotify in comparison?

Never bothered.

Just added stuff back into new account. Helped me weed out the rubbish I don't listen to.

I had no problems with Apple music / android / car. What's issue are you having??

To play music from phone to car using the cars touch screen system you need either Apple car play or Android Auto. Apple music is not compatible with Android auto because Apple are spiteful like that. To play Apple music via my phone, a Samsung, I have to choose the music on my phone before I set off and can not alter it as that would mean handling my phone and that would be illegal. I connect only through Bluetooth, I can not use the Android Auto app.

Spotify is compatible with Android Auto so that ends that problem. Connect via that and the whole system works via the cars touch screen.

I cannot use the Apple car play app as that only works via Apple phones.

The transfer issue is more to placate my daughter. She is 16 and has a lot of music on there. Do you have any idea how feisty a 16yr old gets when told something may change and they might have to put some effort into it
