Hi all,

Played earlier with a friend who has a few different gadgets / training aids to help him and it got me wandering, what does everyone use?

Personally, I have an Optishot setup and use this to hit balls when I can't get to the range, etc...

He had Game Golf whilst on the course and also has a few other iphone apps.

So, what do you have?

I've had a lot of bits and pieces over the years. Many have been fads and never really helped. The best one I've had for a while is the V-Easy and the tour tempo app. The only other thing I really use is some string and pegs and a putting mirror

Indoor cage net, ES12, Vector Pro, Optishot and a training grip on an old driver.
has any of this got my handicap down? Errr, no.

Has anyone used one of the large metal circle type training things, where the club head is attached to the circle and slides around it. The only one i've ever seen was at the St Andrews driving range but i didn't have time to get a close look at it.

Is there any in my area , and would it be of any help in sorting my body rotation. ???

Do you mean the Explanar. I used one with a heavy roller and it does give you the feeling of the correct turn and it was useful but never really used it long term in any lessons I had. Seen plenty lying around ranges and golf clubs rusting and clearly unused

Not sure what its called but its a large metal ring / hoop about 3 metres diameter , set at what looked like the correct swing angle / plane. I'd like to try one , if there's any in my area.

EDIT, I JUST GOOGLED IT , AND YES IT IS THE EXPLANAR.

ANY IN MY AREA. ??

THE EXPLANAR.

Very good but you have to use it frequently.

A range I used to be a member at had one set up permanently in a bay, if you took up one of their more expensive yearly memberships (like £80) you could use it any time you wanted, you could also pay to use it one off or during a lesson.

I only had the basic membership however so only used it once, pretty good though.
