I'm going in the morning to the American Golf discount store to see about buying new clubs.

Just wondered if they do trade ins and if so are they quite fair?

I will be trying to get shot of -

Driver - Taylor Made R7 SuperQuad

3 Wood - Mizuno F50

Irons - Mizuno MP32

Wedges - 53 and 58 degree Mizuno MP T series

I can't really be bothered selling them all individually on E-Bay.Too much hassle.

The clubs I will be buying add up to about £1200.

Hi mboy.
I would try selling them privately You get much for them trading them in.
On the subject of buying the new clubs,if your spending that kind of money it would pay you to go to your local pro and get their advice and get the clubs fitted. You might be surprised at what the pro will knock off for a deal.

Mot had the best experiences with American Golf mate, feels like a car shoe room where they are not interseted in you the Golfer but just in it for the commision of what they can sell you ( just a personal opinion) keep money in the game visit your local pro, Better advice better value and more often than not will have more time for you.

i couldn't agree with you more boabski.Ive had 1 or 2 bad experiences with my local AG. The main 1 being i bought a set of Taylor Made r7 tp irons and was so called fitted for them.I went to pings about 2 months ago and was properly custom fitted. The T Made irons i had been using for around a year were a different lie and length.

I prefer to think the the ping fitting is the proper one.

Have you considered using golfbidder - might not fetch as much as on e-bay but takes the hassle out of the selling process and you can use the credit at any registered pga pro should you wish instead of just receiving a cheque.

I've been watching ebay a lot in the last few days. In between bidding for non-golf stuff, I've been checking out all kinds of golf equipment.
The new tech stuff goes for good money...that's for sure...I'd imagine an R7 superquad would go for good money, as would Mizuno irons and decent wedges.
The old tech stuff hardly gets anything....that's why I'm not putting on my driver/putter/wedges.....
I reckon you can't beat the local rag....sold all my irons this way.

Most trade in prices are based on Golfbidder so if you put your details on that you cangeta rough idea of what AG and a number of pro shops will offer.
