Got a Pro AM coming up in August, and there will be 25 European Tour Pro's playing in it. Team entry to get to play with one of these guys is £225 per team of 3(which although probably good value, I'll give a miss to, and then regret later).

It will be interesting to see how they do around my track (who ever turns up, and I'm guessing we aren't talking a listers here), after previous posts talking about GIR etc.

It is in the afternoon, and is a shot gun, so I'm thinking Saturday swindle in the morning, and then a few beers, followed by a bit of spectating. Could be a good day out.

I'd be surprised if your course was open to you mere members in the morning. I'd imagine that the greenkeepers will be cutting, rolling, cutting again, raking bunkers, tidying etc in preperation.

It's a secret location, hidden in the depths of sunny Watford.

Seriously, I'm not sure what they are doing about spectators, as I guess a lot of the members will want to watch, if they aren't playing in it.

Although the golf club is private property, there are alot of foot paths over it, which are public. Not sure where the club stand with spectators and health and safety. We had to stop our fireworks night due to the public intruding onto the course. It was impossible to guarantee that no one would get injured.

A mate has just persuaded me to enter, but whether I come out of the ballot is any ones guess.

When i was a junior my old club used to hold a pro am event every year over 2 days, course closed to all members, but the juniors used to caddy. It was a good crack, used to get paid about £100 for the weekend, and also pick up loads of decent balls.

It was an eye opener when it was slightly wind against and slightly downhill at about 185 yards on our SI1, the guy asked what i usually hit from there " 4i i replied "....

He took a 7i and stuffed it to about 3 feet.
