Up at opening day of the Johnnie walker and have noticed that the majority of the players have the grips on the wrong way round .
Can it really be so off puting to see the words golf pride ? And does the multi compound grips work as the mouldings are wrong way round for them

Total guess, Golf Pride are not paying them.
Guess two they are using adjustable drivers and have changed the settings since they were gripped.

Ye, they work all ways round. I have been using Fundy`s driver and we use different settings, I could not tell the grip was turned.

Grumps, were most of the players using multicompounds?

Logo down, as is known. It can be distracting if the grip is not put on with the logo aligned in accordance with the players preferences. Some players hate a closed club face and a logo slightly to the left of centre as they look down gives that impression.

If you look at good player irons in a golf shop, they often come logo down. It isn't just a Tour can thing.

but they have lasers to aline grips on the tour vans?!

I do mine the same way. I'm not a good player far from it. But i just prefer to see just a plain grip don't like seeing the name/writing there. Its easier to re-grip too cos you don't need to faff about lining it up straight with the writing.

It's also a little tricky with 'Reminder' grips.

I have a couple of Tour Van shafts that have logo up grips, but 1 of those is a reminder.

Logo down on shafts was/is standard alignment where shaft has been SST Pured in the factory.

You can't turn all grips around though...some are ribbed at the back, which makes it a little odd when they are turned the other way!

I bought a set of Callaway irons once, one of the players clubs which usually had logo down. But i specified reminder grips, and they duly came logo down and reminder up.

The grips on my TaylorMades which I was lucky enough to get made up on the tour van come with the logo down. There is a small centre line at the very bottom on the front (maybe 2mm) but otherwise totally clean on front with logo underneath. Didn't specify them either way so would guess that's the way they're used to doing them for their guys.
