Just watched the tour go past the office and was amazed at the amount of infrastructure and logistics that go into this. There was as many support vehicles as there were bikes that went past. Not to mention the police motorbikes and helicopters buzzing overhead. Was really impressed and quite proud to have seen it buzz through. The community really embraced it too with painted green bikes, bunting and all that jazz. It all happened in a flash and was something i was pleased to witness. Just watching the end of the stage now on ITV4 via skygo.

We had it yesterday. I would say at least as many police bike and support vehicles, perhaps 1.5 times as many as actual cyclists. The before and after is as much a part of the event as the cyclists who whizz past in a matter of seconds. A good feel good factor for the towns and villages involved.

Absolutely. The locals really embraced it. The kids from the school lined the pavements and the lead car stopped for them and got on the loudspeaker getting them to cheer. They'll remember it forever. Good stuff all round.
