Too Many Golf Balls

I have a bag of pickups that I use for practice, it has Pro Vs, Z stars, top flites, pinnacles etc. while there are varying levels of softness/hardness felt of the face and the amount spin on pitches varies. The one area in which they are all pretty much the same is distance.

To be fair don't Titleist update the ProV1/ProV1x just about every year, but I guess that's an update and they keep the model name the same(/similar for the pedantic who will point out the ProV1 392)

I believe they do update it every year - something i mentioned grates slightly, but is acceptable. What they don't do is completely reverse the 'target' like TM did with the Red/Black I posted about.

And I'm unconvinced whether Srixon have done themselves any favours with the name 'AD333 Tour'. Time will tell. There's no such beast in US, but there has been a 'QStar' that doesn't exist here.

I personally think the opposite. Plenty of AD333 players (like me) will be tempted to try a similar ball, but a bit better, without having to go for the expensive "top end" (whether this is true or not, pre-conceptions and all that).

May end up with plenty of AD333/AD333 tour players for winter/summer conditions, brand loyalty and all that!

Does anybody know if the Taylor Made Lethal has morphed into something else now?

I ask because Direct Golf are doing Lethals for less than £25 a dozen. Would have been tempted but I just took advantage of the Titleist deal and got 4 dozen pro V's for the price of 3.

Think they are now TM TP Balls or TM (a)

Find a ball you like.... And stick with that. I tried a few over winter, none really peaked my interest. So back to the old faithful Z Stars.

Easier said than done when they are changed every year...and your "old faithful Z Stars are on their 3rd or 4th generation.

How much difference is there between the original ProV1 and the current ball....? How many incarnations have there been..?
8..? More..?
There has to be a significant difference otherwise we are being conned..(surprise surprise) so an " old faithful" anything isn't the ball you think it is.

But also an old faithfull ball may now be something totally different. The Nike One was a Premium ball, then a mid range ball when the rezn or whatever it is called came out and now etc and as mentioned above, the TM premium ball is on about its 6th name change. You go in wanting a box of lethals and are faced with liads of names, none of which is the name you recognise. Provs nay change but if i want the Titleist premium ball at least I know what to ask for

I seem to pick up quite a lot of TM and Bridgestone balls these days - but so many different 'types'. No idea if some are good and some are rubbish quality - premium or basic. I just play them.
