If you reserve and collect it will tell you if your local branch have one Tony (N not M!!)

I've just reserved another one at Brighton for a mate who saw mine in action last week, together with a Benny driver for £67.97!!

Done! The mrs is going in to wangle a good deal on the case and car charger. I said ask for both free(how cheeky) but if they say no, I will buy the case if they throw the charger in free.

I am furious, just had a call from the manager at AG in Chester saying there has been a big cock up and they have non in stock and cant sell them at that price anyway. He's checking a few things out and I am waiting fro a call back, but he is about to receive the ear bashing of his life.

Apparently all the prices on the website were wrong. BOL**CKS, the IT department rang me an hour after I reserved to ask which store I wanted it reserving at, they didnt say a bloody thing except, I will contact the store directly to let them know you want it this morning.

Watch this space for an update!!!

Smiffy you say you have it on H/O authority, how is this? And do you have the phone number?

Marvelous, Teh B**tar*s have taken the website offline!!!

I have an email with my order confirmation and my reference number that has a total price of £97.00 inc VAT.

Surely they will have to honour this now.

I reserve everything good I said about them above and in other posts untill further notice!!!

I'm sure there's something in the small print to suggest they don't. Imagine how many people went onto the site & spent what they thought they were saving on other gear whilst they were there. It's all about traffic & i imagine they knew exactly what they were doing......

Play.com done something similar to me recently. They didn't have to honour the deal as it was "falsely advertised".

Well they did, they honoured it. Only because I dug my heels in.

The long and short of it is this.

After receiving a call from the store manager saying he had non in stock and couldn't sell me it at that price anyway because IT had messed up I told him I would be speaking to head office. He told me he would call me back within a couple of mins after he had me sure the prices were incorrect.

I didnt recive a call so decided to ring them myself an hour later. I suspect he was waiting for the website to go offline or concocting an excuse, however he claimed he was tied up still trying to get the correct price for me.

Anyway, he offered to sell me one for £112 as a good will gesture and I told him no, unless AG were willing to honour the price I would be taking my custom else where, even if I had to pay extra, defeating the point I know but I am a stuborn Bar steward. He claimed he couldn't do it and I didnt realise till after I got off the phone he had said earlier he had non in stock, so how could he sell me one for £112. I asked him to bring up my account and infrom me how much I had spent instore, I told him I thought it was about £1200 over the last 12 months. He took all my details and said he would speak to the Area Manager and email me to keep me updated, he also said he would regret loosing a customer of my calibre due to the amount I have spent. I then reminded him I could have bought the item online and had it delivered for the price but out of loyalty, I wanted to spend the cash in the store. That promptly ended the conversation.

Within an hour, the guy rang me back and offered me the sky caddie for £97. Before I could question his earlier remarks about being out of stock, he quickly informed me he had forgotten all about the window display one. (dare i have asked for discount for being a display model) :D (I am not that bad) :D

He said he had spoken to the area manager and explained my situation and he had ok'd it given the my circumstances.

Mrs picking it up later, I think I will stick with online golf from now on.

Well I've just got back from my local branch, and they were fully aware down there that the AG site has been playing up all morning, with weird prices appearing all over the place.
I had three "reserve and collect" receipts, the manager was going to honour the first two (Benny Driver @ 67.00 and 2 dozen Bridgestone balls @ 22.50) but at first flatly refused to accept the one for the SkyCaddie, saying a genuine mistake had been made, he logged onto the website while I was there to show me that the price had gone back up to £162.00.
I stayed calm and said that whilst I realised something was wrong with everything going down to £50.00 at some stage in the morning, I had waited for the site to stablise and believed that the £97.00 price for the SkyCaddie was correct. He informed me that it wasn't but on the basis that I had travelled down from Bexhill agreed to honour it. What a gent!
So that's goods with a ticket value of £320.18 picked up for £188.50!
That can't be bad....

Well done lads for getting them at those prices.

To me the IT boys have made a mistake and I think they have put their purchase price on the net and not the marked up price. Just shows how much profit they make if this is true. But considering that you have spent £1200 in the last 12mths they would be very foolish to lose your custom.

i just hope that they honour the deal for my Bridgestone balls and ProV1's!! I have gone for the delivery option.

I look forward to hearing how all these bridgestone perform. I can't realy justify anymore premium balls with the 2 dozen TP black, the 2 dozen cally tour Ix, the nike from GM and several dozen Pro V all waiting for their chance to cripple my game and send me into a despondant black mood as one by one the go from blade to bush never to be seen again.

4 dozen Noodle
3 dozen Srixon "soft feel"
2 dozen Titleist NXT Extreme
2 dozen Nike SFT2
and
2 dozen Bridgestone B330-S.

That doesn't include the mottley collection I've got rattling around in my cart bag!

Smiffy, how many balls do you expect to use? I have 2 doz NOP and about 3 doz Prov1, and this will last me the next two years at least. I have had 2 doz prov1s more than a year already.

I don't lose that many, just wear them out. Go through a few in Florida though, as I have an in built magnet for water.

Store them well though, not just lob them in the garage, so you avoid extremes of temperature.

Tony
just to clarify my point about "HO authority"....
This wasn't confirmation that the store would have to honour genuine mistakes. It was confirmation that the stores have to honour the "online" deals over and above the deals that they are doing "in store".
This was highlighted the other week when the stores were running a "buy two, get one free" offer whereas the website were offering different deals. The store manager cannot turn your business away after reserving and collecting something you have seen online on the basis he wants to fulfil his own instore deals.
Hope that makes sense?
Rob
