Tokyo Olympic golf club.

Don't know if this has been done on here, but the club in Tokyo that is earmarked for the Olympic golf is men only. The golf club president is astounded by the fuss over this.
How can the Olympic organisation that is supposed to be for equality allow this to happen.

Agree, however they could if they wanted take it back to Brasil and Rio......the golf course is hardly used if ever used..........and probably won't be there for much longer

Maybe it may encourage them to change? I suppose it depends on the courses available that would be suitable. Not an ideal choice though.

I did think at the time when I posted that it was not a done deal that the golf would be played there unless something changed.

So the IOC approached them. Surely they would have done their homework first and know the clubs policy so in a way I can't see why they are getting funny now. It's not a great policy in this day and age but not unique

I suspect the Japanese Olympic Organisation approached the club rather than the IOC itself. It's the home orgainsers that are on the hook to deliver everything, not the IOC.

Christ have you seen the vitriol in the HYS on the BBC site? I know in the past few months there has been a load of leavers and remainers hijacking the HYS on anything on the News section spouting vitriol at anything with remotely an opposite viewpoint, but this is golf and some of the hysterical, misogynistic ranting on there is just plain ugly!!
