I generally hit everything out of the toe with my irons.

To put it bluntly, I know it's a swing fault but I'm struggling with back problems this year and I am resigned to keep range work to a minimum for a good while and can only out the hours into less strenuous short game work, which is no bad thing.

Put simply, is there any kind of custom adjustments which can be made to irons to provide a short term fix until I can once again put the work in?

Line up the ball at the heel of the club, or stand closer to the ball? I don't think a club adjustment will fix it?

I suggest the direct opposite...

Nothing fitting wise that can help that I can think of. What is the flight like other than a little shorter than you would like? Is the ball going right or are you getting the club shut but just striking it toe end?

I agree with Alex. When I had the unmentionables I used to address the ball with the hosel, so using the same theory try addressing the ball with the toe.

Yep, funny enough Fundy and I were yabbering about this on Saturday, Swing where you fear, setup where you fear and so on.

FWIW I get toey when I get too flat - or at least more flat! Perhaps with a sore back your posture is a bit more upright so a bit less shoulder tilt so a bit more flat...or that could be total rubbish :-)

I also tend to be a bit flippy so clubhead in front of hands so can close the face and/or pull the club across to the left too soon. Last week I had a range session where all I thought about was hitting out to the right more at impact and really straightened things up and found the middle a lot more.

Might be of help or not!

Oft times toe strikes happen because coming into impact the golfer raises the hands up much higher than they were at address because the swing path into the ball is a good ways too steep.

So because of the steep path (saying steep because you mention you hit a lot of pulls, so club has to be traveling left a ways through impact, so out to in which is always a mite steep) then the only ways to get club to ball is to have real high hands coming into impact, this lifts the shaft a ways more to vertical than it was at address, swing plane has completely changed.

So in doing this the heel plus the middle of the face is a good ways up from the ground so you can't from there contact the ball with the middle of the face, as the toe is more pointing to the ground, so effectively it's the only part of the face you're able to get onto the ball at all.

You'd need to work on trying to keep the plane of the shaft into impact more matching how it was at it's address angle, so swing to get the hands swinging through at the level & distance they were at address, instead of lifting them a good ways into impact.

(co-incidentally had you hit a deal of pushes, sometimes overdraws, so the path a good ways from the inside & a ways too shallow, in order to stop contacting the ground before impact that golfer too raises their hands high to lift the clubhead to avoid the ground too, so that also put the heel a good ways in the air, so club coming in still a good ways toe down to ground & the toe is the only area left on the face you can get on the ball at impact)
