After 36 holes all I can say is I am done in.

A great days craic with some people losing their heads ( but I wont mention who ).

The course was fantastic and well worth the £50 for 2 rounds. It started off pretty poor as it was pretty wet but it dried up then was a bit showery 10-12 holes. By the end of the first 18 everyone was gald to ditch the waterproofs and grab a quick bite to eat.

I was happy with my first 18 but the second was a totally different story. I think it was getting drawn with theCraw again tipped me over the edge. 35 points in the morning followed by sub twenty in the afternoon.

Lack of concentration and a very slow pace in the afternoon stopped me really getting any momentum but I was very happy with my morning round especially my birdie at the 11th.

All in all another successfull forum day and if you havent already attended one they are well worth the effort.
Looking forward to Machrihanish game to try and take more money of Crawford and Andy. :D

ps meant to post this in OOB. feel free to move

A great day on a smashing golf course!!

Many thanks to Crawford for arranging it and to the guys who put up with me..Steve and Mike in the morning and Andy and Donny in the afternoon..you were all great company!

It was also good to meet the other guys and put some faces to names.

what a day weather turned out great!!!
steve played very well both rounds and rightly took the sweep money (well most of it  )
had great fun playing with iain in morning and the comedy twins in afternoon

roll on machrihanish

To be honest when I was out with the dog this morning at 0615 hours in the wind and rain I was wondering whether I should just take a rain check, rub down the dog and go back to bed!

Anyway am I glad that I decided to brave the West Coast of Scotland weather frontal.

After a cuppa and a chance to chat and meet with Grumps, Dony and Iaing it was off to the first under a grey threatening sky and a steady rain.

Sadly I was paired with a nutty Irishman, Dony, Fabians club stable mate (a shark off of 6) and Andy. The cry from Fabian was St Nicks versus visitors. Lets just say Andy and I owed £2 by the end of the round!

Thankfully the rain relented by the fourth hole which considering my amazing start of blob, blob, and yip, you guessed it blob again! I managed to roll in a nice birdie putt for a 2 on the fourth. A lip out for birdie on 5 was about as good as my game got today. In fact I was totally out of sorts and a grand total of 22 points paid tribute to that!

Fabian played some pretty special golf which made a mockery of his so called 18 handicap. In fact Fabian despite his horrendous pink and orange, yes pink and orange outfit is the most improved golfer on the forum. In my opinion his game is coming on leaps and bounds, 35 points paid tribute to his consistent scoring. There may even be a rule 19 slash brought into effect before Machrihanish after the committee get their heads together.

I will also have to come clean here before the cat gets out the bag! I had a wee toys out the pram moment on the 16th tee where I had a wee miss-hap with my driver and the head sort of dropped off it! It could have happened to anyone to be honest!!!

Anyway back to the golf, Stevek1969 won the stableford in the morning with a superb 36 points which considering the early conditions was pretty special.

Sadly 75% of the field never paid him his dues and disappeared with £2 more than they deserved still in their pockets. They know who they are!!!!

The afternoon was glorious, the weather was dry and once the testing wind dropped it was beautiful. Grumps and I managed to steal a half with Stevek1969 and Fabian (the two form men from the morning!)in a superbly contested game. Imagine not being able to defeat a "driverless" man! Shame on you!

Dundonald itself was in superb condition, it truly was fantastic, the best condition I have ever seen Dundonald in. ;)

Just as well you were not playing with Steve when you took the fit and bust the big dog cos I have just read this months GM where he is slating the 'shocking' behaviour of that 'brat' Garcia when he had a bit of racket abuse at the USPGA!! ;)

God knows what he may have done with you Crawford! :D

Glad to see you had a good day on a great track.

Should have bought whatever sticks Sergio uses. They look like they can take a bit of abuse.

I'm on ebay at the moment looking at

Diamana blueboard shafts,
Graphite designs Aura red,
Grafalloy Platinum,
Grafalloy Red,

I need a lower launching shaft I think. I tend to hit the ball high off the tee.

NONE!!

You should be banned from the course until you can show the expected level of behaviour :D

Were you not fitted for your G15/Voodoo combo recently?

Personally I would be tempted by the Grafalloy Red but didn't you have the Diamana blueboard in your Rapture which you were very happy with, so maybe best to go with that.

I was fitted for the G15 however it came with the Serrano shaft which just ballooned like a big Phil flop shot.

That for me is the problem with a fitting on a launch monitor and not on the range. You just don't get the same feel nor do you get to see the ball flight. Its all and well having a print out of a ball flight but seeing it is another issue altogether.

I quite liked the Voodoo however I also think it was a fraction high launching. I always have hit the ball high though.

It was shocking behaviour and i would have berated him severly, then slagged him rotten. :)I told him to drill out the head and put the shaft back in the shorter shaft will give him more control the next time :D :D.

Another great day at Dundonald, good to meet IainG and Grumps for the first time first class company and Grumps would make a great sniper 200 yards out hit the greenkeepers buggy with him in it spot on.

Crawford some of the 3 woods you hit were top class mate and on a great flight so i think th Voodoo is for you mate, thanks for organising another great day and hopefully another annual event.

As for my golf 36pts in the morning 13 out 23 back +1 for the back 9 with a double bogey at 17 ,best golf i've played for ages and 35pts in the afternoon.

A mention for the most improved golfer goes to Fabian well played mate and see you at Machrihanish, great company as usual when you weren't crawling to your wife :D :D

Never mind the greenkeepers buggy least I never tried to kill a train driver or 2 like a couple of others I could mention :o

I just wanted to sneak onto Western Gailes for a game, is there a problem with that?

Fabian just put two on the railway line cos he's crap!

Another top notch day oot and a Big Thankyou on behalf of Ian and I for the organising Crawford and even going that extra mile by arranging decent weather (only an hour out on the perfect timing).

My golf could have been better but both the company (Jonny, John and Ian)and the course were brilliant. It wss a joy to watch Jonny France (JJF69) in the afternoon playing golf to a level that I can only dream about. 1 under par around Dundonald is exceptional scoring.

Until yesterday I thought I had seen some outrageous clothing on the course but the yellow and black checked trousers, matching shirt and shoes will take some beating. Crawford the white trousers are now old hat. Yellow and Black checks are now here to stay !!!!

As others have said roll on Machrihanish.

Mike,

You could be right. I was blinded by the glare from them. I thought I was following a wasp up the fairway !

I'm sure I overheard them saying that it was the design of the 2011/2012 Arsenal Away Kit :)

I judge outfits by my own standards and EVEN I WOULDN'T be seen dead in that get up!

I have a pair of yellow trousers but I draw the line at yellow and black stripes with matching yellow shirt and yellow striped shoes!!!

WTF!!!!

FASHION POLICE PLEASE!
