We have the British Boys Amateur the week after next, so we are closed for that week. The club have organised us some reciprocals for that week, One of which is Trump Aberdeen, I can't stand the guy and certainly wouldn't give any of my money.

Now everyone says its a great course, so intrigued if it is up to the hype.

So would your conscience stop you playing somewhere??

Probably not but if you're getting on for free just go play it and enjoy it.

It is a cracker in fairness.

If it's at an acceptable rate (and this seems to be 'free'), then certainly!

Attitude to the ownership etc is quite a separate issue to enjoyment of the course!

Do you check out the owner of every golf course or any other business you spend money in before doing so?

No.

I normally couldn't give two hoots. However in Trump's case I wouldn't give him a brass farthing.

For example I'd love to play Turnberry but so long as Trump owns it I wouldn't even accept a freebie.

If it's free what's not to like? Granted, any money you spend in the bar after would technically go to his organisation but for the chance to play a decent (so I've heard) course then why not

Because it belongs to Trump and that is sufficient for me to swerve it. The guy is a pillock and his association with golf bothers me. I would do nothing (in my own small way) to encourage it or to assist him earning even one penny.

Do you boycott all companies he is involved in?

Yes, where possible, and should I be appraised of one that I had otherwise been unaware of I would immediately disassociate myself from it.

I do not like the guy, I think he is a racist moron and I would happily cut off my nose rather than indulge him.

Put simply he is a berk. I don't care for berks, irrespective of them owning top courses or not.

each to their own but having played both courses at Turnberry a good few times since the changes and his course in Aberdeen I would have no problem paying full price if I had too to play them again coz theyou are just that good.

I am sure he won't lose sleep knowing you don't want to play his courses

I'm with you. I've followed pretty closely what Trump has been up to as PotUS since his inauguration - he is obnoxious and the arrogance and deceit he has practiced - as well as his attempts at undermining keystones of the way the US government works, has been astonishing. I wouldn't give him the time of day and there are plenty of cracking courses out there waiting to be played.
