Situation:
The last two medals were cancelled due to course conditions.
The course has been closed/half-closed since the end of January.
Five or six pumps were still running on Saturday.
Greens staff have told me that it would be best not to open the back until 'at least mid-March' but that 'the management' would open as they are losing money.
It is proposed to open the full course for the first time tomorrow, just in time for the March medal.
Heavy rain is expected any time now.

Do I play the medal on what is certain to be a sticky mess in places, off winter tees and on uncertain greens? or

Do I give it a miss, and use the holiday (which I have to take for this) to play in minty's charity match?

Mintys charity match!

Sounds like you have made your mind up about not playing at your home track, get down to Mintys charity day, meet HTL and have a beer after.

Minty's charity match.

I can't see anypoint at all medalling in the weather we are expecting, on a course which is still partially flooded. There will be plenty of medals after the clocks change.

Lucky me. Medal today and we managed to finish before the weather set in. Played my usual rubbish but did get a nice birdie.

Steve, i'm not sure what your thoughts are but surely you've got to be thinking of leaving that place? I know we've had some pretty terribe weather this winter and may not experience anything like it for a few more years but my tracks have been open all but one week when we had the snow.

What's with all this rain...? Didn't order this at all...!

Can't be all bad as in blustery conditions, rain & hollow tinned greens I was still only eight over through nine.

ut want it better tomorrow, as Its the first of my real pre-Celtic Manor Games with the lads. Need to show a bit of form before the big two days.

So when & where's this Minty18 charity bash?
