Hubby and I went out for 9 holes after work last night (I'm soooo happy he is back playing after his surgery :))
I decided to leave my driver out of the bag for a change and I was really surprised to learn that using my driver didn't actually offer any more yardage than using my rescue off the tee.
Why is this? :D I'm fairly confident using my driver, could it be my technique!!!!
Has anyone else experienced this or do people generally not use their drivers and prefer to use other clubs.
It would be interesting to know what others use to tee off and why.

May i ask, do you generally get good height from the Tee?

If like myself you hit a lower trajectory, it may be the extra height from the hybrid has given a better carry and further distance.....

I have a shorter backswing now, and have always had trouble with a driver, although surprisingly always hit a one iron ok...

However, have moved to taylormade R7 and get a much higher trajectory than before this has helped my 'distance' a great deal.

kind Regards.

Hi Barb, What degree is your driver(i would guess about 12 or 13*), your highbred is probably around 20 or 21*, so I must agree with Blade, you are probably getting a better flight with the highbred.

I was having trouble with distance with my driver, so I went to the range(all grass no mats) and started to try and find out were on the club face the ball was impacting, and found that the ball was being struck below the centre of the face, indicating that the ball was teed up to low, so i adjusted the heihgt of the tee so that i was impacting the ball with the centre of the face..hope this helps :D

p.s. I used masking tape on the face of the club to show were the strikes were

Thanks Prubs
My driver is a 12* and my rescue a 19*
I think I may well do what you have done and go up to the range and hit a few to find out where the ball is connecting with the club face.
Thanks

What flex do each club have in the shaft?

This could make the difference.
