It was noticeable yesterday at the Open how many of the field were playing with white TM drivers. They seemed to be the most common driver by miles with players sponsored by other manufacturers having them too. I guess drivers and putters are probably exempt from some sponsorship deals as they are more about personal preference.

They must be good. When I had a hit with one I wasn't that impressed but there mist be something about them. I certainly want to have another go!

some players are contracted to a full bag with their sponsor. TM pay those people to use their drivers to get more coverage. Luke Donald for example, sponsored by Mizuno, but uses R11, but has a Mizuno head cover on the driver. All politics at the end of the day, that and money.

exactly the original point, there must be something in that driver to make luke play it, as he cant be on a contract with tm if not it would have there headcover on it?

I don't for a minute doubt the TM white monsters are good drivers, it will have been a long time since they done a baddun! having said that any time I pick one up and have a look at it the white just does nothing for me at all.

Snelly I've got an R11 and a rescue 11 and they are awesome......even when I top them 150 yards one after the other like I did yesterday at The Grove!! :D :D

i think in this day and age there is very little in the top drivers, so it probably comes down to which company is willing to pay more! the r11 is just the club that TM want to get max exposure for so are willing to pay as many players as possible. obviously when the likes of Luke play is, money doesnt come into it. just what he prefers at the end of the day. but im sure he could play with anything and still be just as good

They are noticeable...only because they are white. Not as many as you think.

I have the white TM Burner superfast 2.0 and it definitely is longer than my old G15 by a good few yards. No BS, it does go.
That said I found the longer shaft no harder to hit but do grip down half an inch or so lower than the old g15. The fact it is White is not a deal maker nor breaker.

I've hit the R11 and the Superfast and to be honest wasn't overly impressed by either and have no inclination to get rid of the Tour Burner. Clearly with all the tweaking and set up changes these guys go through to get it spot on there is something iherent in the design that a lot of them prefer. I guess this popularity is why we'll be getting the R13 anytime soon followed a week later by the R13 440cc and the R13 superduper fast

I've hit the R11 once. I had a swish with one when Fragger dabbled with it.
IT was a regular shaft and set for maximum draw if I remember.
Smacked it 270 down the middle.
No doubting the performance but I just couldn't face pulling it out of the bag and taking the headcover off without a set of Welder's goggles to hand......

Tried the r11 and superfast TP yesterday and according to launch monitor stuff was getting better launch, lower spin and further carry than with my titleist, must admit that initialy not liking the White, then after creaming the drives better than my dark (but shiny) Titleist I'm going to get one, it was so much fun to hit long high drives and I feel you could swing within yourself or have a real bash if you wanted.
Also like the fact it's not got lots of tweaks you can do with weights etc

Played with two guys at Worsley who had them Simon off 4 and Gary off 13.
Simon hit his very well and a long way Gary not so good. so i suppose it's how you swing not what you swing?

I'm a Taylormade fan, Hell, all my gear is Taylormade but I have to admit, I'm still not sure about the colour.

No doubt I'll end up getting one (Probably the Burner) :D
