Tried this today. Horrible square looking head, horrible black and white crown, horrible sound off it and even worse feel. 400 notes! Errr no thanks the G30 comfortably sees off another competitor.

Bought a new cart bag and some shoes though.

I hated the g30, and actually really like the look of the m1. Couldn't stand the Matt black finish on the g30. Would agree on the sound and feel though, hard to tell when I've hit it good or bad.

Feel was totally dead, no feedback at all.

Have tried both - G30 felt all wrong , nowhere near in distance or control compared to my SLDR
M1 gave a little bit extra but not enough improvement to justify £400

As with all golf clubs - what's good for the goose won't always be good for the gander

From my experience big hitters tend to get the most out of the m1 in terms of the wow factor. For all others it leaves them unimpressed

I'm certainly not a big hitter, pretty Joe Average throughout my whole game, however for me the aesthetics and acoustics are all wrong.

Hit both last week along with others on flight monitor for around 45 minutes

I liked the M1's looks and felt good to me. G30 SF was longer on average by 5 yards although the M1 was tighter in dispersion, as was the Callaway XR

Callaway is a nice shaped head.

Like all clubs the "engine" is crucial. I took the G30 to Scott Gourlay for a shaft fitting.

Pretty much my opinion. When I tried the M1 it wasn't any better than my SLDR and the G30 wasn't very impressive, but I didn't mind the LS Tech version though.

SLDR one of the most unforgiving models TM have released. As you say each to their own.
