Went to a demo day at my local range today, now i have D2 set at 9.75 in Reg with the Diamana Blue shaft in it, now i really get on with it and nothing gets past it i distance or dispersion . So its really busy and the the pro from the range gets his Trackman going as well, the Titliest lad was using GC2. So i hit a few and were trying to get the height down and I'm hitting this club like a dream lower and longer than my own and you could put a blanket over the balls I've hit. Anway the specs ended up Titliest D3 7.5 Aldila Rouge 70g Reg flex, the spin rate was averaging 2100.

Sounds good. Was going to head there myself but I had to go through to Edinburgh this afternoon instead. Probably saved me a few quid though...

2100 spin is very handy. What sort of launch and carry were you getting out of it? The 915 is one of the clubs I'm really keen to have a go with. Sort of half in the market for a driver, and will be upgrading mine at some point, and have my eye on a 915 or a G30.

I'm glad to hear that you got on well. I was at Cluny Clays yesterday and it was a disaster! The fitter didn't seem interested and showed no encouragement in what I was doing. I asked if the 915 shaft would fit the 910, and he wasn't sure so he took my 910, stuck his wrench in it, and promptly sheared the retaining screw which remained stuck in the shaft! His answer was "It was going to break anyway", I was speechless. Full marks to the guys at Cluny Clays who tried to sort it as I'm off to Turkey tomorrow, but all they could do was fit a 915 shaft which didn't really work for me. I have managed to source a replacement shaft today, which has cost me £50, but at least I'll have a driver I can trust whilst I'm on holiday.
I've played with Titleist clubs for over 30 years and I must say I am extremely dissatisfied with Titleist customer service!

Clive thats a poor show to be honest it was Stuart who has the range who did my fitting as it was busy ,he went and got his Trackman set up, I've got a 913 D2 and it felt easy to hit which is not the Titliest norm. I hit it 233 carry pea shooter distance on here tho

Wow, poor form. They should have at least sorted you with a like for like shaft!

As I said the guys at the range were great and did lend me a shaft which was as close to the one I had, but it was lighter and all my drives were just ballooning off the tee. They have sent the original shaft back to Titleist for repair but it will take about two weeks. The Titleist fitter didn't offer a replacement shaft, or any other alternative, even when he knew I was off to Turkey for a week. It took me less than half an hour of phoning Titleist fitting centres near me to source a replacement shaft, something that the rep should have done. I have posted the borrowed shaft back to Cluny Clays this afternoon, as it is about 50 miles away, at a cost of £11, so total cost of a free Titleist experience was £61.

Like I said today Clive, they should have given you at the very least a loan of a 915 for use on your holiday.

Am sure you will still enjoy the sunshine and golf in Turkey.

Thanks John, to be honest I prefer my 910 to the 915, but it would have saved me a lot of hassle if the did loan me a 915, and who knows, I might have grown to like it and then buy one!

I think an email to Titleist customer services may be in order. In a time when all golfers are told to be custom fit the service of the fitters (especially reps from the company) should be second to none. £61 quid back and maybe manage a wee freebie!

I think its a poor show to be honest, the one i was at was busy from start to finish, but thats no excuse, the lad didn't ask about what ball i use when i was giving him the details of my fitting which i thought was a poor show

thats appalling CS, and quite Rude.

I went to a very early 'fitting' with a Titleist fitter, cost £25 (the range charged it and took it off any order, dont know if the fitter got anything), booked in for 30 mins and it was less and I felt rushed in and out, I felt myself asking to try certain shafts rather than being offered based on figures, I also had to keep asking what the stats were after shots (I'm interested).
overall a forgettable experience.
I would have enjoyed it more spending time by myself with a few shafts and using feel and my eyes.

I will email Titleist when I get home. I suppose that most of the folk at these fitting days have no intention of buying, but just want to hit the latest clubs for free. The fitters must get peed off at times.
Off to Turkey now, so won't worry about it for a week. :D

You may be right and I'll be honest I've done exactly that but it is what it is, a demo day to try the product. Will be interesting to see what Titleist say. I got the feeling from the Silvermere day they do take issues of this nature seriously so hopefully they'll sort something out
