Have one tomorrow at Kings Acre. My club sorted a day trip so getting picked early doors and driven through for a fitting and cheeky 9 holes too

Now the planning so I can get the AP2 which I have my eyes on with out the Mrs finding out.

Enjoy John !

I've enjoyed Fergus's last two articles about his iron fitting. Are you going to get a set to trial for the 9 holes or just take the plunge ???

Thanks Junior,

If they give us a chance to trial the stuff we're looking at I would jump at the chance, I'm going into it with a open mind too, I've worked hard to improve my swing over the last year and feel that I can maybe get to my next target if a better set up

Enjoy mate...

Dont go with clubs in mind... have an open mind and actually get whats best for you. I wish I had taken my own advice ;)

Have you seen Fergus's blog? Its on the home page of the GM site. He writes about having a set to trial so i dont see a reason why they wouldnt lend you a set for your 9 holes at KA.

Good luck with the h/cap!! Im sure you will nail it.

Well what can I say?

Great day out just shame about the weather but the facilities are great. Graeme asked what I wanted and why. Told him I wasn't happy with the shafts in my current irons, so after hitting about a dozen ball with my current irons he suggested a true temper xp95 s300 shaft on the AP1 the difference in the shaft was night and day I felt I had more control got better feed back.
So after hitting a couple of dozen balls (Pro v1) we went to the AP2 irons with the same shaft and wow what a fantastic club wasn't as long as the AP1 and most stats where roughly the same but the way the ball landed and checked, the feed back was great again.

So have order the AP2 with true temper s300 shaft and can't wait the week for them.

Also tried the new Vokey wedges in 56* & 60* while I waited on the other guy I was paired with 2 great clubs but that's for another day.

top place & top man in Graeme , glad you had a great day .. i tried the vokeys the day i was there aswell & have put a new 54 in the bag and will replace my 58 when dosh allows me

My swing speed was in the mid 80's the fastest was 90, sorry but came remember the club head speed but the smash was 1.3 to 1.4, the height went from 80 the highest being 90 but I do have a high ball flight. Also the ball was dropping at 40* angle.

The AP2s are a truly brilliant set of irons. They have everything any decent ball striker needs, small cavity, small head, thin top line, workability and a little help on the odd miss hit.

Wee update, got a call today from my club today telling me my irons had turned up :D, only to be told that they're in a regular shaft and not the stiff that I was fitted for!!! Been advised that they only ordered what spec was on the email ( to me it seems they are passing the buck ). They have emailed the fitter and also the Titleist rep so now I'm waiting on another call to see what went wrong.

Really annoyed as it's taken the shine of a great experience and great day and also I would not have bought a new set of irons with a regular shaft as that what I have in my current AP1's
