Got a friend that wants to be fitted, he's here in Cov, he doesn't rate the Belfry so that's out, so is going to Cambridge which I think is the National fitting centre the best option?

Anyone got any experience of it or anywhere else?

Titleist have 3 mate, Edinburgh, St Ives and Celtic Manor,
I went to Edinburgh and it was superb, really well looked after, staff were knowledgeable and never felt rushed, didn't come away with any doubts, if the orher 2 are as good then your mate will be fine.

Couple of the guys I play with have been to St Ives and highly recommend them

I've been fitted at Celtic Manor 3 times and cannot fault them. The hardest part is getting the appointment as they only do 2 days a week for Joe Public.

Thanks everyone, I've passed on everyone's comments and due to our location he's going to contact the fitting centre at St Ives in Cambridgeshire.

If it is the same setup as Edinburgh, you can only make a booking through a professional or perhaps a golf shop.

Bladeplayer and I got fitted at Edinburgh just over two years ago courtesy of Titleist and GM. Service was really good, we got plenty of time to hit balls and lots of advice.
They had a huge amount of heads and shafts.
The most bizarre thing about it was hitting Pro V golf balls on a range.

Celctic Manor was the same. Had to do the bookings through my pro.

Can you just get fitted for wedges or does it have to be the whole bag?

I doubt if you could do the whole bag with them in one session. My first session was for a driver and 3 wood and I had to book for 2 hours. We did the driver first and then the 3 wood, 2 hours later I was knackered.

They usually fit for different parts of your bag in 1 hour slots, so yes, you can get a wedge fitting with them.

They have more shaft choices than I have seen with other manufacturers too. From the standard supplied one's to the super exotic. They won't try to see you off though as the fitting is based around the trackman figures and also what you think about the feel, ball flight and shape. Ultimately it is your decision which shaft you choose but you won't go far wrong if you stick with the shaft that trackman suggests.

I still have my 910 driver and 3 wood that I was fitted for when they were first released, and won't be changing until they wear out or break.

I was at the Titleist National Fitting Centre in Edinburgh this afternoon and it was fantastic. I was primarily looking to replace my fairway woods as the 910s weren't performing too well and was really surprised by the results. I have been struggling with distance with fairway woods and it turns out that I need more loft to gain optimum distance, and in fact with the set up I currently have in my bag I have four clubs where two would do to cover the range. I also tried the 915 driver, but the fitter advised me that there was so little difference between my 910 and the 915 it wouldn't be of any benefit changing.
The Centre isn't there to sell you clubs, but to advise what is the best for you. I didn't feel under any pressure to commit, but I am pretty certain that I will be dropping two fairway woods and my 4 iron in favour of one 915f fairway wood and an 816HI hybrid. Now all I need to do is write to Santa!

Highly recommended!

What sort of difference is there in price for a club when compared with buying of the shelf from AG for example? I'm assuming it's a bit higher considering you're getting the fitting too.

Is the National Fitting centre like Ping, whereby your club pro organises for you to go, and any purchases go through him/her?

Titleist will make recommendations and you can source them where you like. If the local pro can do this somewhere close to the cheapest price I would go with them, of course.
