Went to American Golf today to try out some new 3 woods. Had my eye on Cobra F6 with Red Tie shaft, ok but thought it would be a lot better, not much better than my very, very old Callaway Great Big Bertha War Bird.
Then on to the Titleist, wow this baby flew. Certainly longer than my Callaway with plenty forgiveness. It felt lovely and effortless to swing. Lovely inspiring head shape at address.
Might have a look at Callaway XR16, but very impressed with the Titleist. I've never had Titleist clubs before but this was a real eye opener.
Before I decide however I just want to compare on a launch monitor

My mate Dave got one of the 915 three woods, and off the tee he hits that thing way further than he did with a driver and is more consistent as well. When we played Muirfield last year, we were with two other guys who are both longer hitters and he was up there with their drives and a couple of times past.

mind you he's crap off the deck with it;)

As above, a mate has the 913fd and 913d2, both custom fitted.

This season he dropped the big woofer and only carried the fd. I'm sure he said there was less that tens yards between the two. He's off 5.
