For Sale:

Titleist AP2 Forged (the original, 2 incarnations old) 3 to PW. (8 clubs)

The 4-PW have Project-X 6.0 soft-stepped once so they play about 5.7 on the PX scale. The 3 iron has a PX 5.5 in.

All have Black Widow Edge grips, about 8 months old.

I've had these just over 2 years and although I don't use iron covers they've been well looked after and cleaned often.
They have the usual marks from usage, and 3 of the clubs have very small marks on the face which I've tried to show in the pictures. Playability is not affected at all by them.

I'm looking for £250 plus postage.

Absolutely gutted as i would of had these, but shafts would be a little too stiff for me.They look very well looked after,i'm sure you'll have no probs selling them.

Region, how do these feel/play compared to the S300?

It's odd, but when I was fitted the PX definitely felt better to me in the AP2's. When I tried PX and S300 in my new clubs the S300 felt better. It's either a case of different heads can make different shafts play (or feel) differently, or I've changed in the last 2 and a bit years. Probably me.

It's one of those things that I think you need to try for yourself, but the only description I could offer is that they feel lighter and slightly stiffer than S300.

Other people will have different feelings I'm sure.

I would say they're not far off each other...........if you can hit s300 you could hit them IMO.

Oh, I have AP2s and a few guys with PX shafts.

Tommo/Region,

Thanks for the replies.

Going to see if I can have a hit with some AP2 and/or PX over the weekend.

If they're still available after that I may well be interested, will let you know.

UPDATE!!

I've just had a PM asking about them and it reminded me that I'd forgotten to mention something.

They are standard lofts and lengths, but the lie is 2° flat.

Not all clubs are made to a standard lie though. For example, my new clubs are 1° flatter than my AP2's as standard. I believe Mizuno are also flatter than Titleist as standard.

Also, being forged, they can be bent as required by a clubfitter.

Sorry about forgetting! :o

Hmmm I'd have these but feel they may be too stiff, what swing speed would they suit?

It's very difficult to generalise and say a certain swing speed, but if backed into a corner I'd say driver swing speed anywhere between 95 and 110.

They are stiffer than S300, but don't feel (to me) massively stiffer because they are also a fraction lighter.

No problem. Just bear in mind they aren't the latest version (if that's what you try) and they will play between 5.5 and 6.0

You're welcome to come and have a go if you can't find any others to try, but I suspect it's a bit too far.

My clubs were all altered, it’s a doddle.

Just taken my lad tonight to be custom fitted with these (£105.00) per club got quoted so at £250 a bargain for someone.

That seems very steep. Does it include special treatment to the shafts like puring/spining or whatever else they can do to them as well?

well not exactly a bonus, its called mucho overtime and a few triple time bank hols over chrimbo, was putting it aside for the dreaded MOT/Service and Tax next month but..... :D
