Does anyone have experience of both these sets? Is there actually much difference? Other than price, am I just as well getting the 714 set if the price is right? Beautiful irons.

I updated from the 714's to the 6's, no great difference for me other than mental! Pleased that I bought the T-MB 3 and 4 irons though, love them.

Get your wallet out.

Had the Titliest 714 and they looked gorgeous, however not a patch on the Pings which I changed them for.

Srixon Z745 or the new Z765, look superb and play even better.

Titleist is dog ugly in comparison!

Interesting? As I'm thinking of doing the same 714 ap2 to ping's g irons. Let us know what what you did 👍

i tested both. Really is minimal difference. I would say that the 714's felt a tad softer but the 716's for me went a little further and straighter.
There isnt much in it.

I use the 716's but haven't tried the 714's.

The only help I can offer is that some bloke called Jordan has tried both and stuck with 714's so they can't be too shabby.

I actually prefer the look of the 714's, but I wouldn't call either "pretty".

I have the 714s . have hit the 716 on a monitor. Not much difference if any. your wallet will know about it though.

What Pings did you go for?

Wull and John F, I have written a lengthy blog on here when I went to Gainsboro to get fitted for my irons and then had 3/4 HR working on my woods . It does explain in more detail on that Blog. Without getting boring again. The importance of having the correct shaft, is or was as important as having the right club. I eventually settled on the Gmax. The dispersion was better than the G irons I think they were. G max are Probably the ugliest club Ping have. but and this a massive but. With me not being a big hitter. The Pings are at least a club longer.. It might not be much to some but at our course I can now play a couple of our par threes with long irons instead of woods. I actually now have a ball flight that occasionally looks impressive. I have been quick to slag off the SLDR driver in the past as it just did not work for me, yet others love theres. I will be as equally quick to praise Ping. I would give them a go before buying Titliest again. Incidently I had the as 710 and swopped them to the 714. Apart from looking better sat in the bag, prefer me Pings.

Yeah I would agree about the shaft, when I was fitted for my ap2 irons, I ended up with the xp95 s300 which I like. Last year I done my acl and missed from August till April. I'm now looking for something that will help a bit with the bad days and see that the G irons have the xp95 shaft too.

Thanks for the reply, I'll look up your review 👍

If memory serves me right I have the same shafts in my pings, and they were in my Titliest, tried three or four shafts but the px 95 were the best.
