titleist 913 to ping g10 is it a step back

Today i had a round with a friend who was selling a ping g10 10.5 proforce v2 shaft stiff. I said that i would give it a good as i have hit it before and enjoyed it, well all i can say is longer straighter than my 913. im seriously thinking of getting it off him or is it a step back?? i hit the 913 very well but the g10 is a lot longer, another friend of mine that plays off 6 uses a g10 same spec and has bought a second as a spare because its so good

It's not a step back if it produces better results

I would use a G1 if it gave better results than a G25

Forget the name or model and judge by the performance
 
Westwood kept his G10 in his bag for absolutely ages so definitely a good stick. Personally only thing that would hold me back would be ego, but if you can get past that then I would go for it. Otherwise you'll end up buying a new 'un in a few weeks.

The one thing I will say about the 913 is that I had one for a month or so and found it to be noticeably shorter than previous drivers I've had. It could have been the shaft / loft etc but I was finding that I'd probably lost at least 10 yards on my R1.
 
It depends what you like looking at, a pretty bag or a better scorecard....I really don't get this constant need for affirmation on club choice, if it works use it :confused:
 
I recently went from X Hot Driver to Taylormade R9 to now Rapture V2. As for distance? No difference worth mentioning. Accuracy? I can spray each one in to the trees equally with reckless abandon.

In conclusion, not a step back at all. A step sideways. It's probably more to do with the different shafts anyway...
 
I really don't understand why you need to ask:confused:
Does it make you look a better player having a Titleist driver in your bag? Not really.

very true, but its an ego thing i think i got a 913 and covert but the g10 out performs them both, i hit a terrible strike today with the g10 and it went straight and high and 20 yards shorter than normal i would except that all day.

Forget the ego and look at the results and performance.

yup, I am a sucker for golf gear.

G10 was the best driver I have hit results wise. Seeing this even prompted me to check out evilbay. I have resisted however due to being skint :)
 
G10 is a quality piece of kit. Has technology really moved on. I love the Titleist stuff but I struggle to hit it consistently so wouldn't really consider using it. If the G10 is longer and straighter is there no debate really. Get it in the bag
