Trying to make sense of the Titleist settings. Google seems to give me different answers

For example take a 9.5 degree driver. I would have thought always that B4 would mean the driver was 11 degrees in loft and the face was most open it could go
But a few things I've read suggest that adding loft in a Titleist club actually closes face?

Anyone here familiar with the settings?

The effect on face angle and loft is different in different clubs. Titles says that their system changes loft and face angle independently. It changes face angle by making it more upright or flat. Some other makes say that adjusting loft changes face angle, usually closing face as you increase loft.

So if you accept what Titleist says, then B4 is indeed 11 degrees and most flat = open.

Adding loft on the mizuno jpx 850 closes the face.

I mucked around with the loft settings on my 910 and in reality it didn't seem to do much. On the mizuno it does.

Adding loft closes the face, meaning you square it up by opening it - thus adding loft.

Since the head has no moving parts, the only way they can add loft is to alter the angle that the shaft comes out of the head at to make you add the loft at address.

Other than the ugly lump on the bottom of the R1 (?), there's no way altering a setting will make the head any different when just rested on the ground.
