In essence what's the difference.

i have the 910f and by and large I am very happy with it (off the fairway ) off the tee is a bit more hit and miss.

when I chopped my ap710s in for 714s I did not bother having a 4 iron as I was useless with it which leaves me with space for another club.

i have looked at getting the 910 fd as I like both my 910 f and hybrid.

would the 910fd help me off the tee better than the 910 f,

what is the difference between the two.

many thanks Tashyboy.

The fd has a deeper face than the f so theoretically should be better off the tee and not as good off the fairway. Personally found both fine to hit from either would only suggest the Fd worth having if you hitting a lot of tee shots with the f off the top of the face

If anything I tend top them if I hit a bad in, the 910 f I am happy with off the deck. It just seems that off the tee I am not so brilliant and wondered if the 910 fd would help.

IF the bad shot is a top then a deeper face not going to help I wouldnt think. With the f I used to tee it pretty low and just hit it as if on the fairway, if you are looking to hit it on the up like a driver replacement then maybe the fd would work. do you know anyone who has one where you could just swap the heads to try it out?

The main difference between the two is the weight placement and volume. The FD has the weight placed nearer the club face to lower spin. The deeper face provides more hitting area and would be a good tee option for the stronger player looking to control flight and spin. The F has it's weight placed further back from the club face to enhance launch and spin, whilst it's shallower face makes it easier to get airborne from the turf, with a more compact face.
If you tend to top your tee shots, then neither is going to help you out much lol. If you hit it well from the fairway with the F, then try teeing it lower to make a better contact. Topping tee shots is a common enough fault, but not much that a clubhead can do to cure. Either way, both the F and FD are excellent choices for either tee shots or fairway - pick one to suit your game (sounds like the F to me)

Towards buying them the main difference is you have to be fitted for the Fd at point of sale, Titleist would sell the F version off the shelf not the Fd, so if you saw one & bought it second hand you'd have to check the spec carefully as to whether it would be correct for you.

The Fd has a deeper face, it's also been engineered to give a slightly lower trajectory, & make it easier to shape shots with it. So if you have trouble getting 3 metals in the air with a good flight, the Fd is a little harder to do that. The F being a lot shallower in the face is a little easier to get up in the air.

It's a tad harder to hit a deeper face 3 metal from the ground, but it can be easier with the deeper face if you tend to tee the ball up.

When they brought these out the premise was the deeper faced Fd was aimed a little more at the single figure end of the market.

I think I didn't quite explain myself right re me topping most of my bad shots with the 910f it was in reply to me being asked to I get under it. Not really. Most of my bad uns are topped, but by and large I do tend to hit it quite well and thought that the fd might help me off the tee.

i really would like to try before I buy but am not in a massive hurry to get one.
i would put it alongside my F to compare and if there was not much difference I would give it a miss. Had a look on ebay and there not to expensive. Watch this space.

many thanks for you help everyone.
