Titleist 910 Driver

ken use it in your favour and haggle like mad on the 909. When i refresh my driver i generally buy the one that was from last season, that 100-125 pound saving comes in well handy for green fee's and beer tokens!

Sorry my mistake I forgot to say that I will (if it suits) get a 909 - I will be more than happy playing an old driver if it goes well.

Late autumn release in the US and possibly spring here.

The 909 is still a great driver. Adam Scott still uses a 905.

A mate has a 905 and its a great tool - I did not really get on with the 907 - and the 909 D2 I tried (8.5? stiff voodoo) and it was too much club for me - was going to try a few with loft and reg shafts and see if I can bash them. Thoug I am only interested if I can get them at a good price.

Been hitting my G10 well reciently - around the 290 mark with roll - but its just too soft and too high. I want to be a bit more agressive with my swing (really slow with driver compared to the other clubs). I want the ball to stay a bit lower when being agressive. I have a HT CGB max and the G10 (10.5) - when I really crack one from teh CGB I can get snow - the G10 is not as high but I can still get over small montains with it. Not good when my place is on a wind swept hill - and the prevailing wind is generally towards the OOB.

ken, have you tried a lower t position. I know its obvious but i struggled with this with my G2 and my Burner, after watching a video on youtube it explained more about locations of sweetspots on newer drivers, since playing with the lower t i reckon my drives are around 25-30ft lower at peek flight, but the roll ive gained is unreal!

Someone on here suggested the wrong flight could have also been down to incoorect balls.

I have - and I get a lower flight, but I need to swing slowwwwwwwww to stop it balooning.

My problem is mostly that I want to swing at the golf ball and not need to slow my (untalanted) swing. Another playing partner has a Cobra (cant remember model) with a Alidia (?) shaft I can really swing it nice without having to slow the club head - but the sod wont part with it.

Anyhow I was going to have a bash with the 909 before I realised that the 910 was coming so I was just wondering when to start the bargin hunt.

Also REF: balls I use a B330s which seems to be a relativly low spinning ball (My hook or slice is not as bad with them) so I got that bit covered. Cheers.

i was in a simular position to you by the sounds of things. My Great Big Bertha 416 had a 10.5*/Reg set up and i could hit consistant, but i found i had to do everything in slowmo for it to work or id get a mega hook. I stumpled upon my G2 which was 8.5/stiff and i found i could really throw myself at it and benifit greatly.

What about finding the spec of your mates cobra and trying to bargin hunt ebay?

Thats the backup plan - as I am not overly fussed on the driver look - where I love the look of the Titleist's.

And while it sounds daft to some I think you have to enjoy the look and feel of the clubs - I used to have a set of TM Burner Irons - these where the easiest clubs you have ever hit but dog ugly . Changed them to AP2's and while it took me a while to tune my game up to them - I can cream them, with my Irons being my strong point.Still love the look of them and enjoy hitting every shot (even the odd bad 'un)

909D3 is a great driver, slightly deeper face than the D2 and gives a good mid flight. G10 is a higher flight club, especially with the stock Ping TFC shaft, and Pings are also sometimes more lofted than labelled.

A 905R with a UST V2 shaft is a great strong players club. The 907 was not a good club and didn't catch on with the Tour players.

how dare you call my irons ugly!.... infact dog ugly...

but on a serious note i know what you mean when you look down at a club and just have the good feeling that makes the shot easier.
