So you didnt feel much difference between the composite headed driver and the two titanium ones then? thats got to be good as I tried a callaway fusion last year and it was horrible.
On a note for next week, I take it ear pieces will be supplied before the review!!

Brendy,
I am now mid forties so my hearing isn't probably what it once was, but I couldn't detect any discernible difference between the two, and as you say, that's got to be a good thing as sound has certainly been an issue for some people with some of the composites. Also, as you rightly say, the Titleist sound is nothing like the Cobra one, more of which early next week...
Really liked the DComp by the way and am certainly eager to pursue it further given that I was able to turn it over without things descending into the realms of the destructive hook.

Speaking of the dreaded hook, my mizuno mp600 (thanks again!) did its first hooky think on the last hole of a comp on monday, ended up losing the ball and settling with a 78, 36pointer, oh how it could have been so more glorious!
Not bad considering Ive had it the best part of 10 months, I do tend to push the odd one with it though but I cant complain as its looked after me generally very well.

The question with these drivers is, are they better than a 907?

Once the MOI, volume, COR, etc have been fixed, and you have been c/f'ed for the shaft, what can be that different?

I have a 907D1, which on a good day I can hit miles. On a bad day, there isn't a club made that can help me. On a launch monitor, every scrap of data from my D1 is on the side of perfect for my swing, and I get a smash of 1.5.

I know I will 'need' one of these the moment I see one (I also like the name of the voodoo shaft, ooo, scary), but I really can't see what it is going to do for my game that my 907 can't.

I will probably still end up with one, but I will feel a bit of a fashion victim.

alot of the people i play with still use the 905r which is a great club, cant see the 909 be much of a improvement on the 907 range apart from the top end shafts as standard and the 440cc version which will have some 905 users converting to it,

ill be giving the new ones a go but also try the new cobra range as well see whats best otherwise i could end up all titleist oh dear!

Jezz why didn't you give me a ring I live 20 minutes away from the fitting centre I could have quite easily helped you test them ;) ! Not that you need it excellent video once again. Do you know if Brampton are taking advanced bookings to be fitted for one? I may have to give them a ring.

In conclusion I want one!

Eagle,
Sorry for not getting back earlier but I've only just been able to shed any light on it. Apparently we're looking at around mid-November for a full complement of demo clubs At Brampton - but that's not 100% definite. Probably best to ring Acushnet (01480 301114) to check things out a little nearer the time and to book an appointment if you do decide to take the plunge!
