Ladies and Gentlemen and any hairdressers reading this, I would like to take this opporchancity to thank all the guys from Golf Monthly for giving us this platform to discuss (sometimes heatedly ;) mvp) all things golf. If it wasn't for this forum I would have nailed quarter 3 and 4 targets, made 5h1t loads of bonus and probably be heading off to Lanzarote right now but hey .... I wouldn't have changed it for ..... much.

So before the guys from GM bu66er off for Christmas and New Year I would just like to say thank you and wish you ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND YOURS FOR CHRISTMAS AND 2008.

Andy

You've said it all, chaps. A great year on the forum, my personal highlight being meeting "the Mad One" who made this post.

In the words of that great philospher, Vinnie Jones...

"It's been emotional"

Here's to more merriness on the forum next year...and a chance to meet each other at the GMFUGS outing.

Thank you GM. And all the best to you all for Xmas and New Year.

I like this online forum and would thank GM for that, good Xmas cheer to them all. Have enjoyed my few months on here.
On a negative note I have been disappointed with the magazine this year and at this stage am considering not renewing my subscription I'm afraid. I may upset some of you with this comment but that's how it is. The inadequate coverage of Harringtons Open victory in the magazine was a particular disappointment. All these golf magazines seem to be just advert after advert, often not enough substance to justify the cost really.
What do the rest of you think of the magazine?

Well done folks!

Seriously guys Xmas is still ages away isn't it? Plenty of time for xmas shopping left I keep telling myself.

I find the magazine to be the best of the bunch available today however I feel that yes, there is more advertising than I would like but the thing to remember is that the magazine is owned by a "for profit" company and the name of the game is making money. I do not begrudge the advertisinga as a result, it is a necessary evil.

Andy, I think that PH must be in cahoots with Today's Golfer reading between the lines.

I have read GM for approching 2 years now and am very happy with it. I am also a sea angler and don't even bother buying the magazines anymore as they have the same articles year in year out. The only thing new is equipment reviews, these however are totally irrelevent to an angler at my level.

I actually think that GM has a pretty good mix of articles, tips and equipment reviews. TG on the other hand has become one big advert to such an extent that the reviews are fairly laughable and the articles seem to be large scale promotions for some product or other.

Re: 'tis the season ... to say THANK YOU to GM

As a new boy I would like to thank all you old hands who have made me, and other newbies, welcome and wish you all a peaceful Christmas and happy new year.

This forum has now also enabled me to add my best wishes of the season to all the GM family and thanks for the many past years of excellent reading. I just wish that I had time to practice all the hundreds of tips and drills that are guaranteed to improve my game!

Re: 'tis the season ... to say THANK YOU to GM

Creaking my way toward year end, Yule, Hogmanay and the Winter Solstice may I wish all of you, GM and forum friends, all that you wish for yourselves.

I may be absent for a time but shall, as MacArthur, return.

I agree with all the complementary replies to this post. Merry Christmas to all GM front and backroom staff, and thanks.

to all on the forum

thanks for your kind words and seasonal wishes

on behalf of the entire GM team thank you for all your contributions to the forum which has made it such an enjoyable

so, a merry Christmas to you all

MikeH

To all GM readers and in particular the editor (MikeH) the compliments of the season, may all your putts be " gimmies", all your drives long and straight and an old naval toast "KEEP YOU HIGH HAND LOW" which in landlubbers lingo translates to "NEVER VOLUNTEER"

Well aren't we the spirits of Christmas joy in here? Marvellous stuff. No need for GM to bother with this forum and yet they still do it - good work fellas.

As for the mag, maybe a little on the thin side from time to time, but usually a damn fine read from cover to cover. Long may it continue.

And to one and all in here and out there on yonder fairways, a very merry Chrimble and a shot-saving New Year!
